My great-grandfather, John Cripe Keim (son of Tobias Keim and Annie Domer), was also a member of the United Brethren Church. He lived in Kansas from 1884 until his death in 1927. I wonder how many others of our Keim ancestors were members of the United Brethren Church. Mary Lou

Back to Alta (Kime) OBERG.... Did anyone else happen to checkout that 1930 census schedule for the State where Alta was born? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ALSO, since we know she was born before 1900, possibly someone with a subscription to the census schedules on Ancestry or Genealogy.com could look for her on a 1900 North or South Dakota census. That would give us her parents' names. _____________________ On a side note, I'm curious about this Alta as the census taker had her listed as Alton. Whether an error

9. [KEIM] Peter KIMES [1]
Kit, we're at the same place you are.... no one knows for sure who our Peter Kimes's parents were either. Our line has used the KIMES spelling for a long time. One of the first records for Peter is an 1810 census listing him as Peter KEINES (census taker error). He was in Salisbury Twp, Lancaster Co, PA, and a Stephen Kimes (sic) was there on the census and paying taxes, too. We're thinking our line came out of Chester Co. for a couple different reasons. Before that, probably Berks Co, but at this po

Cindy, The George W. and Eliza Keim Crossley on the 1880 Clay Center Twp, Ks are my gggrandparents. The John Keim with them is listed as brother-in-law. George Keim (Eliza'a father) would have been around 60 years old and her mother, Christina, would have been 54 years old when John was born. I haven't found him on any other records. The other George Crossley listed there is actually a brother, Charles. I don't know how they both happened to be listed as George. Decendents of Charles Crossley wound

18. [KEIM] Sarah (Kimes) Campbell, b. 1802 TN [1]
Anyone connect to Sarah Kimes who married David Campbell? A biographical sketch of their son, William B. Campbell, may be found online at: http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ia/county/jasper1/bios/1901/index-c.htm Sarah Kimes and David Campbell probably married in TN as they both list their birthplaces as TN and their son, William, was born in TN. Interestingly enough, on the 1880 census, Sarah lists her parents both were born in Germany. Hmmm.... Germany > TN > Springfield, IL, > IA!!! This sounds like a m

Found Ephraim's family on the 1880 census listed as Ephraim Kimes, b. ca 1836 in VA. BOTH parents born in VA, too (at least according to the census). With the given name Duff and location Virginia, I'm wondering if this family connects to Philip KIME's line?
