I am searching for any information regarding Raymond KERN, b. 20 Mar 1878 in
Putnam Cty, Ohio and Eva BAKER Kern, b. 11 Oct 1880 in Huron Cty, Ohio.
They seem to have been living near the Findlay area. Any help would be most

Dear KERN researchers,
I have posted this before but I am hoping that we have lots of new people
on the list. I am researching my GGGrandparents, Edward Lee KERN and Flora
Elizabeth COOK.
I know very little about them. Edward was born in Canada in 1832 and Flora
was born in New York. I know of two of their children, Ellen Elizabeth
KERN born 28 May 1863 in Canada (my GGrandmother) and John C. KERN born in
1864 in Canada.

Looking for info on Edward Elmer Kern, b. Feb. 22, 1861 - d. Jan. 25,
1913 in Manhattan, KS. One family note says birthplace was Fort Madison,
WI, but there is no such city. There IS a Fort Madison, IA so that may
be it.
It seems his father never returned from the Civil War, whether a
casualty or for some other reason, and Edward Elmer was adopted into the
LAIR family, keeping his full birth name with the addition of Lair =
Edward Elmer Kern Lair. Unknown whethere this adoption was formal or
informal.
