Thank you for the information on John A. Kern. The headstone in Welltown
does not mention his being a minister although his and his son's obituaries
do. There is also a Rev. John A. Kern buried in Mount Hebron in Winchester.

Ginger, the John Yost Kern (German) family is well-documented and published
in hardcover. Your aunt jumped to hasty conclusions by connecting that
branch of Kerns to the ones in Berkeley County, WV. I would like to make
corrections on what you published here, but the mistakes are too overwhelming.
The best way to research our family tree is to start

I find this list helpful, but occasionally, items are posted that list
only names. I would hope that all would at least give some indication of
years AND location. The states of origin or residency can be quite helpful
especially when similar names pop up.
