As some of you are aware now, I am an avid user of Ancestry Hometown and
when I find something useful to the lists, I let all y'all know. Today
was the first time I had used it this week and in their free database
section, they have a database of WWI civilian draft records. I looked
on it and I found records for all the surname lists I own so here is the
break dow BTW: I checked as many spelling variations when I remembered

(please send me suggestions!), so this week, why doesn't everyone post
their lines?? My lines are viewable at my homepage
http://members.tripod.com/~Kshai/genealogy.html If you have your line
veiwable on a homepage like me, just give the address to the homepage if

Hello listmembers,
This message is directed to all those KERN researchers with ancestors in
the KY/MO area. On the 1870 census for KY, Jefferson County, Fisherville
Precinct there is a Fleming KERN listed. His age is listed as 55. Now, I

1840 and 1850 census in Pennsylvania. He disappears from the 1860 census
in Pa and Ky. By 1870(in Ky) he has two children, Fannie, age 18 in 1870
and Geo. W. age 16 in 1870. Has anyone conn

Have you come across any of the above people?

This week, there are going to be 2 "words/phrases of the week". I like
the idea of everyone posting their most unusual place they found the
info or any stories, maybe someone has been searching for their family
for years and then suddenly they found it right under their nose....the
one place they didn't even think of! I think this can be a great one,
not only for "entertainment" and reading amusement, but their may be
someone on the list in the same prediciment and get an idea from the
stories. I

My story: When I got my puter & got on the Internet, I started tracing my
roots. My father's real name, or so I thought, was Arthur Kerns from West
Virginia. So I started looking for Kerns in WV. Then I told my mother what

changed the spelling to Kerns. My father was dead, all of his brothers &
sisters were dead & no one el
