As the list owner of this list I have tried not to be too intrusive with a
list of lots of rules, etc. We aren't a very active list, so the traffic is
not overwhelming. However, one of my very firm rules is DO NOT SEND
ATTACHMENTS to the list in general.
If you have a long message (more than about 30KB) or an attachment that you
think people would be interested in, send a message about it to the list.
Invite the people to ask you privately for the long message or attachment,

Hello! I am new to the group and have a fair amount of info., but
would like to begin by trying to clarify a point of confusion.
Christopher Kern b. 1728 m. Katie Swackhammer
Their son Christopher was born in 1758. He married twice -
to Sarah
Clemens and Sarah Dawes. This Christopher emigrated from the
German Valley of New Jersey to Woodstock area, Ontario, Canada.
It should be noted that this branch of the family changed the

Hello fellow Kern people!
Just made a super find and want to share it with you! Using the 1880
Soundex, I found the parents and siblings of my grandfather Adam William
Kern. He died in the 50s and I had precious little information to go on so
this is a wonderful experience!
And of course I've ordered the whole census to find out occupation, etc.
Parents: Frederick (age 52) and Margaret (age 33) sisters Bertha (21), Annie
(19), Cora (8) Lizzie (3) and Christina (8 months) and brothers Frederick

Maybe I should just give up and go to bed. I still did this wrong. Let me
try one more time. If it's wrong then I will shut down the computer, go to
bed, and try again tomorrow. I must be getting older than I think, or
something, 'cause I sure didn't intend to mention the correction, then not
even show you what I meant.
Hope this isn't an indication of how my 1997 is going to go. Here is
another try at the correction:

OOPS, A CORRECTION TO MY LAST MESSAGE
In my last message I mentioned the Review command which you can use to find
out if you, or someone else is on the list. Problem is, I gave an example
which was not complete. The correct way to send the Review command is shown
here, other common commands are at the end of this message.
OTHER INFORMATION
Anywhere in this message that you see the word ListName you should
substitute the name of the surname list you are subscribed to, i.e. if you
are on the TINGLEY list
MICROSOFT AND JUNO PROBLEMS
For some reason, the Microsoft Network (MSN addresses) and the Juno network
are having some real problems right now with rejections of messages. Juno
is probably because of the switch to local numbers rather than 800 numbers.
Since I'm not a Juno member I really am not sure, but that seems to be the
point of a lot of messages on other lists lately.
I have started getting a lot of rejects from these two networks on some of
our subscribers. To save a lot of headaches, when I
