Subject: Where in the World are these Kern surnames.
I have noticed that the Kern name being researched seem to be all in the
South. Is there anyone researching for Kern in NYC or Germany? Wonder
if I am the only one. Thanks

I want to ask everyone to use these lists (BEERS, GODFREY, KERN, MONROE,
RICHMOND, SPICER, STEARNS & TINGLEY) for surname related messages only.
This message (partially quoted) has been floating around for quite awhile.
There actually is some validity to the concern, BUT it is not something
that I would like us to get into a discussion about.
Please do not use any of these surname lists to forward messages about any
kind of political concerns (this message) virus warning (almost always
fake) or anything no

Time I renewed info about my wife's family tree. The family name
in Loudoun County, VA, was KERN. They lived in the Waterford area and
moved to Carroll County, Ohio, about 1817 when and where
they received a land grant there from President Monroe. I would assume
this was for either Revolutionary War or War of 1812 services, but do
not have information about that. In Ohio, the family name KERN changed
to KARN and then to KARNS for some reason. Those that went to Ohio were KERN
and those born in Ohio
