Mary, noticed your posting. My 3rd great grandfather Rev John Kerns was the son of a Jacob Kern/s and that is the only information that I have other than his date of birth in 1809 as far as ancestry goes. I do have the Rev John Kerns & wife Edna Smith and they were the parents of my Caroline Kerns who married Elisha West Sinex. Am I of this Switzerland County Kern/s family or are there now 3 families out of southern Indiana? I have the obituary and Memoirs of the Rev John Kerns on my website for anyone

Hello, I noticed the name "Martin Kern" in a recent e-mail. A few years ago my daughter copied a picture she saw, I think in a Catholic Church in the Floyd's Knobs area of New Albany, Indiana. It is of a bride standing beside her husband who is seated. The picture may well have been taken in the 1800s and is identified as "MARTIN & MARY KERN 1st wife". The head of the Switzerland county, IN family was JACOB KERN born April 7, 1770, and his wife was Susanah Spielman.
