I am looking for parents or siblings on John KERNS of Fayette county PA. Facts I know about him: He married Ruth Frances McDowell in Uniontown PA September 9, 1869. He was a veteran engineer of the B+ACY-O Railroad and retired in 1910. His obituary states he was born in Dunbar Twp. and resided all his life in this section. I descend from Phillip Jacob Kern who was born about 1734 in Bavaria, Germany. I don't know exactly when he came to America but he settled in York, PA. He married Catherine Funk there on November 28, 1762. They had five sons, John, Jacob, Joseph, George, and Michael. My G-Grandfather, James C. Kerns was born in Missouri but the 1910 Oklahoma census indicates that his Father and mother, names unknown, was born in Kentucky. James married Eliza E. (Maiden name unknown) whose father was born in Kentucky and her mother was born in Ohio. Eliza was a full blooded Cherokee Indian and that is what I am trying to research.
