Hello,
My name is Jann Kern Hogins. My father, Dennis Leo Kern, is working on
our genealogy. I am not too sure who I am writing to or if you could be
of any help. Our family comes from Great Bend, KS, my great-grandfather

Hello everyone. Normally I do not like advertising about scams and hoaxes
on the list (such as those about viruses) since most are actually not true.
This however, I know personally to be true and this company tends to get a
lot of newbies in the genealogy world to buy their books at high prices with
the buyer expecting a heck of a lot more than they get. The company is
called Halbert's and operates out of Bath, OH. They advertise their books
by sending you an announcement personally through regular mail

Hello everyone, this is Erin, the listowner and I wanted to tell you that
Sunday night the mouse of my computer quit working. At the time i figured
i could just go pick up a new one on monday...not so, My computer, from
1993, is becoming so obselete that only one mouse is compatible...and it
is going to cost me $100 to get it special ordered with rush delivery.
Until I get the new mouse, I cannot access my geocities email without
losing it on the school computer and such stuff so if you have an
questions,
First let me partially quote the official Veterans Affairs (VA) press
release of March 11, 1998:
"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 11, 1998
VA Clarifies Rules For Health-Care Enrollment
Washington, D.C. -- In response to INCORRECT INFORMATION DISTRIBUTED BY
OTHERS ON THE INTERNET, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is
clarifying recent changes regarding veterans' eligibility for health care..."
[**my emphasis with the capital letters**]
Now, if I may also partially quote from the VA official web page:
Jann,
Welcome,
What you need to do to have the list to help you the most is include names,
dates and places of birth and other facts that we can identify with. Names
of children, aunts, uncles and grandparents are good also. Such as: what
was your greatgrandmothers and grandmothers maiden name and your mothers
maiden name; where were they born and when. Do they have sisters and
brothers?

I am requesting any available information on the Kerns family. Of particular
interest is Minnie Kerns, my Grandmother, who married Lexington Salyer Sr. and
resided in various towns in Oklahoma between 1892-93 until her death in
1927.Minnie was believed to have been born in Missouri in 1892 or 1893. Thank
you.

Hello everyone. First of all, let me apologize for my lack of involvement
in the lists in the past month. The mouse of my computer broke and since my
computer being so old, there is only one that is still made that is
compatible and they had to order it direct from IBM and basically, IBM was
slow in delivery for one reason or another. But I'm back, finally, so lets
get these lists moving again:)
NOTE: Just want to remind everyone that even though we have the "word of
the week" you can still post your l
