4. [KERN-L] from the listowner....genealogy book scam [1]
Hello everyone. Normally I do not like advertising about scams and hoaxes on the list (such as those about viruses) since most are actually not true. This however, I know personally to be true and this company tends to get a lot of newbies in the genealogy world to buy their books at high prices with the buyer expecting a heck of a lot more than they get. The company is called Halbert's and operates out of Bath, OH. They advertise their books by sending you an announcement personally through regular mail

7. Veterans Warning Scare is a Scare [1]
First let me partially quote the official Veterans Affairs (VA) press release of March 11, 1998: "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 11, 1998 VA Clarifies Rules For Health-Care Enrollment Washington, D.C. -- In response to INCORRECT INFORMATION DISTRIBUTED BY OTHERS ON THE INTERNET, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is clarifying recent changes regarding veterans' eligibility for health care..." 8. [KERN-L] Re: Kern genealogy [1]
Jann, Welcome, What you need to do to have the list to help you the most is include names, dates and places of birth and other facts that we can identify with. Names of children, aunts, uncles and grandparents are good also. Such as: what was your greatgrandmothers and grandmothers maiden name and your mothers maiden name; where were they born and when. Do they have sisters and brothers? bev (my children are Kern's) BEVERLY MELTON DOYLE beverly@cyberback.com ---------- > From: Jon B. Hoginsby way of E

The mouse of my computer broke and since my computer being so old, there is only one that is still made that is compatible and they had to order it direct from IBM and basically, IBM was slow in delivery for one reason or another.
