Thanks to Ardath Blue, I have been able to update the Kern webpage (even
though I should have been studying, hehe...genealogy bug's got me!).
The page I updated was on the descendants (and now his father) of Jacob
Kern. There have been a lot of new individuals added as well as more
details on dates. Ardaths's updates have been denoted by a "*" so you
can tell what was there originally. Where both the original page and
Ardath had the same individuals but there were not dates in the
original, I typed in t
Greetings, all.
I am searching for ANYONE who may have Kern ancestors who resided in WI
or MN during the time period 1860? - 1955. The reason the net is spread
so wide and for so long a period is I just found out that my
gg'grandfather Fred KERN was one of NINE brothers, all of whom may have
immigrated ca 1860 to this area. Known brothers' names are Gustav(e)
and Emil. Anyone with a possible link please reply. Will exchange info.
Thanks.
This family is distantly related to me. I thought I would post this
info for Carns researchers.

Can't remember if I've already announced this, but the Kern page has
been updated. It now includes:
Kern census records
Kern in the military
Biography and descendants of Jacob Kern
multiple kern lines of at least 3 generations
German Kern to NY 1855-1862
Kern Immigrants other than to NY
The census doesn't yet include the 1790 census, I keep forgetting to
update that, sorry, but it should be up withing a month or so.

Hello Beth,
Any chance that your KERN's could have at one time been KERNER's or
KOERNER's. My Fredrik C. and Dorthea W. KERNER (aka KOERNER) emmigrated
from Germany sometime before the civil war. They settled in Racine,
Wisconsin. Family tradition states that eight brothers came from Germany to
America. The only known children of Fredrik and Dorthea were George
Clarence KERNER, Rose KERNER and Theodore KERNER. If there were six more
boys, I don't know who they were. Or were they brothers to Fredrik?
Hello everyone! I thought of a way to spruce up the homepages for the
lists...old pictures! I found a whole bunch that over Spring Break at
my grandma Bradford's for both Eller and Bradford...well not a WHOLE
bunch, only 4, but that is a lot to me:) and anyways...I am planning to
get those scanned and put them on the homepage. If any of you have
pictures to put on the homepage, I'd be more than happy to add
them...There is one thing though, you need to send them to me through
email since I do not have my

I am researching the KERN surname originally from Pforzheim, Germany. My
branch of the KERNs emigrated to Rochester, Monroe Co, NY, USA and I have
recently received a list of burial dates on 39 KERNs who were buried in Mt
Hope Cemetery from 1882 thru the present including the following:
Matthias KERN, my step-GGGgrandfather was buried in 1882. His step-son, my
GGgrandfather and his wife, August & Barbara KERN were buried in 1921 and
1918, respectively. My GGgrandfather apparently changed his name when my

Everyone, this is a forward of a forwarded message I recieved about the

don't know about this virus, it is sent to other people through email

if you do open it, here are instructions to clean up after it (you may

Hello everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know that I have links on
my homepages to books at amazon.com and I would appreciate you buying
books through these links. I get a SMALL commission on the purchases
(you don't have to purchase the linked books, but you have to go through
the links in order for the commission) and I am going to donate the
money I earn to rootsweb...there is one catch though...I have to earn at
least $100 in commission before they pay me and so far, I've only earned
$1.77!

This week's word is "Maryland" :) What this means is in your line, if
you have found any ancestors (or maybe not your ancestors, but with the
surname of the list) in Maryland, post it to the list.
FOR NEWBIES: The way the "word of the week" works is I throw out a
topic and if someone has a line that falls into that topic, then they
are *supposed* to post it, but not everyone really does. For instance,
