1. Re: Kern Family History [1]
Chet, My GGG grandmother was Barbara Kern, born 2/15/1817 in Hungary and died 5/20/1877 in Neenah, Wisconsin. My GGGG grandparents (Barbara's parents) were Mathias Kern, born 1779 in Weichselboden, Steiermark, Austria and wife Katharina Elisabetha Ringwald, born 3/4/1779. Mathias' father (my 5G grandfather) was Andreas Kern. Andreas' wife (my 5G grandmother) is Elisabeth Hofer. That's about all I have on the Kerns in my family. For your information. I, or my server, are having some serious mail problems. I can not down load any e-mail. In fact, I'm not sure my out going mail is being accepted. If you have any mail for me, please hold off on sending it until I put another note on the list. Thanks for your consideration. 5. Back In Service (I Think) [1]
Between my server and I we have my e-mail account back in service. I still can't use Netscape since the problem corrupted the program, but I can access my mail via Eudora Lite. If you sent me any mail anytime Friday or Saturday (10/18 & 10/19) please send it to me again. To get me back on line, we had to dump my entire waiting e-mail file on the server. So I did not get any mail on Friday or Saturday. The problem was that someone sent me a file attachment which was over 3,700 KB (took 2 1/2 hours

These lists are not exceptionally active, it is not uncommon to go for several days without messages. If you are worried that you may not be on the list any longer, send a review message as shown further down in this message. When you respond to a m

10. Another Quick Suggestion [1]
We have some new people on the list. Id like to suggest that everyone send a message to the list with either the person they are most having trouble finding information about (on this surname or family). Or, just pick one of your family members and send out a 3 or 4 generation ancestry or descendancy report for everyones information. Ive done so within the past few weeks, but will send out a different message for my family in the next few days (probably Wednesday or after when I have my weeke
