John: I just sent a post to you at AOL and it was returned. Am trying the list in hopes of reaching you. The message was: Hi Jon: I just received a post which started, "HENRY SACKRITER was born December 10, 1832 in Dans Essel, Germany; came to IL 1864;or Dunfessel? I can't locate this village (?) in an atlas nor does a search engine on the NET focus on either version of said name. Does the above strike any bells with you? Fletcher

Charles: You have "made my day". I needed Henri's origin to be in "Alsace Bousse". Thank you for taking the time to read my message and then post to me. I research the family Sackrider. Johan Christian Sackrider was born in Asswiller and immigrated to Philadelphia in 1731. His father had died and although he was the elder son he "allowed" his brother Johan Heinrich to inherit the estate. Johan Heinrich married Anna Christina Reeb and moved to Keskastel.
