1. [KIMMEL] Philip Kimmel portraits [1]
Here's a puzzle. Those who have seen "Records of the Kimmel and Related Families," a family history by Charles Messner, have seen the pictures of Johann Michael, Johann Philip, Henry, Peter and Singleton Kimmel. His son and cousins do not know where he found the pictures or what happened to his copies. Some relatives got miniature copies of Michael and Philip. I had been told by others that they came from the Admiral Husband Kimmel's family. An old Henderson newspaper article confirmed that the family

Dear Tim, Wish I had an answer to your latest problem-- but, I surley dont ! But, I am wondering if you had received any new information from Dr. Bill Thompson. As I recall he would be back state-side in May. There , he would supply you the family history they got in Gimbsheim, back in the 1970's. I hope we can continue to learn about those early ancestors ! 8. Ira S. Kimmel [1]
Hi, I was browsing the archives of Rootsweb and noticed the thread on Ira S. Kimmel. He happens to be my great grandfather. Ira S. and Sarah J. Monfar had three sons possibly a fourth. Their sons (no daughters) were John F. (1886 - ?), Emanuel N. (1887 - ?), Jesse F. (1891 - 1947) and possibly a David. My grandfather Emanuel N. married Joanna Victoria Neufeldt. Emanuel N and Joanna V. had three children. Daughter Jennie M. (1921- ), Ernest N. (6 Apr 1924 - 28 Aug 1976) and Duane L. (3 Jun 1926

10. Frank Kimmel? [1]
My uncle sent me newspaper clippings from the newly opened Kansas Speedway outside Kansas City KS showing that Frank Kimmel won the first race there on opening day. The headline on the second page of the article says "Kimmel just misses special bonus for double victories." Uncle John says, "I don't know how he is related to us, but I would guess he is...." It seems to me like Frank Kimmel's name has been well known in racing circles for several years, but I don't know how he fits in. Anybody kn
11. Please Read [1]
Hello Kimmel Cousins ~ I have received a rash of sub requests the last couple of weeks from people who think they've somehow been unsubbed from the Kimmel list because they're not receiving any mail from the list. I've check each and every person and without exception, you're ALL still subscribed. The problem lies in the fact that no one has felt "moved" to post anything to the list for quite awhile. So, before you start fretting about being kicked off the list for some unknown reason, try sending

13. Clarence Kimmel's Book [1]
Hello from a new subscriber, Now may be a good time to write to you all. My Mishler cousin (Lutz side) lent me her little Kimmel Book. The one compiled and arranged by Clarence W. Kimmel in Hiawatha, KA. The List may have already discussed this. Genealogical Memoranda KIMMELS A.D. 1626 - A.D. 1930 It has been interesting reading - there are so many interfamily connections. There is even a photograph of Jacob A. KIMMEL and Eliza Brumbaugh whose daughter Adaline married Joseph W. Mishler.
14. [Kimmel] Frank Kimmel [1]
The Frank Kimmel website has sent me a little information and has promised me a photo of Frank Kimmel and his dad, Bill Kimmel. We'll see if we get anything. Apparently his mom's name is Mabel, and his dad was a successful racer before Frank. i think Frank's brother, Bill Kimmel Jr. is his crew chief. Frank Kimmel II (son) races in the Mini-Cup Division, and Bill's son Will, another Mini-Cup champion, has his own website at www.willkimmel.com . With all these uncommon names, doubtless we'

You're right. The census will tell you if somebody is now a "W" as in widowed (instead of "S" or "M" or "D"). Of course, you might also want to check out the name of both spouses. In one of my Slawson families, I found HER in Sangamon County and identified as "W", but I found her spouse in a different county as a "D". People sometimes lied to the censustaker, especially when it was disgraceful for a woman to be divorced but acceptable to be windowed. Of course, I've noticed that sev

20. [KIMMEL] Re: Kimmel Family News [1]
Kimmel Family News is sponsored by the descendants of David & Leah Riegel Kimmel (he's a grandson of David Kimmel 1763), but it's open to all Kimmels. It costs $6 yearly and comes out roughly quarterly. I'm working on the April issue of KFN this week. Probably the best thing we've got is Tim Kimmel's Kimmel Column, which gives us history on all the Kimmels. And we carry queries, etc., from "other Kimmel cousins" as well. To subscribe, send your $6 check to Kimmel Family News, 325 West Hickam D
