Debbie, The line that you are making reference to is believed to have been generated fraudulently, about 150 years ago. There is some considerable discussion of the line in Kincaid-L archives. Hi everyone, My name is Debbie Tester, and I started this out following the Edley Hood and Martha Conley line. Sue I use the Kincaid spelling al the way through and list other spelling on the notes page. That way I keep the original spelling, but can research using one name. To do this make the note "other spelling" on the notes page, then change the family page you must do this for all individuals. With this done you can run your merge. What strikes me about this list is that I would have expected more common names. They would seem to need the testing more since it's so much harder to separate all the Smith, Jones, Williams, etc.. (I know because my wife has Jones) However, I suspect organization would also be more difficult and in that respect I appreciate Peter's and everybody else's organizational efforts on this project. It's good to be a Kincaid. Bruce > Hello everyone! > > Below are cuts from the latest Family Tree DNA (th

My view of John Kinkead & wife Elizabeth is this: John Kinkead of Oxford Township is the son of John Kinkead of Sadsbury Township, He married Elizabeth McCall, daughter of Samuel McCall & wife Sarah. I'll have to go through my time line again and see if there is another possibility. 24. Re: [KINCAID] Kincaid/Kincaide spelling [1]
Sue, You have a couple of options. One is to change the surname to match all the way across a line, (not very satisfactory.) Run the merge and then change them back. The second is to make everyone a Kincade/Kincaid as it will let you do that for a surname. Thats the only ways I know to have a file recognize a duplicate you may have missed. Karen
