WHITEMAN--E.E. Whiteman, 61, a farmer living near Elmont died at 4:30 o'lock yesterday afternoon in a local hospital. Mr. Whiteman was born near Dayton, Ohio, in 1859 and settled on a farm near Elmont in 1870. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Pleasant Ridge church. Burial in Prairie Home cemetery.

Dr. Glen F. BENSON, 70, 1257 Medford, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon at his office in the Mills Building.
He was born June 24, 1894, at Gove. He graduated from Western Dental College, bow the University of Missouri School of Denistry, in 1919, moving to Topeka at that time. He had been in active practice here 45 years.

Killed By A Hammer Thrower.
A Little Greenleaf School Girl Slain on the Playground.
Mary CLARK, 8-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. CLARK, was killed at Greenleaf Wednesday by a hammer thrown by George TALBOT, one of the students who was practicing the hammer throw. The hammer struck her in the back of the head and death was instantaneous.

Ernest Loren LIGHTBODY, 52, of 1350 Mulvane, a former public school teacher and recently an employe of the United States Employment Service, died Wednesday in the Veterans' hospital at Wadsworth where he underwent an appendectomy June 15.

The death of Ed. S. BATEMAN occurred at his home in Billings, Mont., and Mrs. Bateman brought the remains to Holton for burial Monday evening. He moved to Northumberland England where he united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth RUTTER, on the 22nd day of January 1867. To this union eight children were born, four of which preceded the father in death.

Elizabeth Lena GRIFFITH, of 716 Madison Street, Topeka, was born in Scranton, Kansas, December 28th, 1901 and passed away at the home of her mother, Mrs. Joe BAUER, at 1127 North Topeka Avenue, Topeka, Kansas, January 30th, 1928, at the age of twenty-six years, one month and two days.
Elizabeth received injuries in an auto accident several months ago, which later resulted in her death.

The death of Mrs. M.A.G. MARTIN, colored, occurred at her home on Nebraska avenue early Tuesday morning. Death followed a long siege of illness, and her death was a welcome release from intense suffering. She was afflicted with dropsy. The funeral service was held at the Second Baptist church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. January who was called to Holton to officiate. Burial was in the family lot in the Holton cemetery.
