My grandfather, Edward Clarence Fisher, died in Ottowa County, KS March 26,
1912. According to his death certificate, he died in the Sherman Twp.,
Lamar, Ottowa Co, KS and was buried by the A. J. Culp Undertakers in
Miltonvale, Cloud Co., KS. I am seeking the records from the A. J. Culp
Undertakers in the hope that they will reveal the place of his burial. The
Phelps Mortuary in Miltonvale does not have these records nor does the County
Clerk of Cloud County. Can anyone help me discover the locati
Since you are going to be that close to Concordia, would suggest you go

The Cloud County Genealogical Society has a Cemeteries Book Vol 4
of our series with a copy of the Sexton's map of the West Branch
Cemetery in it. This may be seen and copied at the Frank Carlson
Library in Concordia and if a personal copy of the book is desired
members of the society have them for sale.
The microfilm of all newspapers of Cloud County is located in the
Library and also at the Cloud County Historical Museum just across the
street. Both groups have microfilm reader/printers a
Can anyone tell me which newspaper(s) would most likely have carried
obituaries for Cloud County residents in the year 1897? And where can I
find copies of those newspapers? Also, does anyone know what funeral homes
were in existence in Cloud County at that time and whether they still exist?
This would help me greatly in my quest to find information about the
death of my gg-grandfather, John "Jack" GARLOW, Jr., born 8 JAN 1816 in
Monangalia Co., Virginia (now West Virginia); died 27 FEB 1897 in (

Where might I find the sexton's or caretaker's records for the West
Branch Cemetery (also known as Cleveland & Shepherd Cemetery), located in
the NE corner of Section 15, Buffalo Township, Cloud County?
I will be passing through Cloud County this weekend and plan to visit
this cemetery (and find the graves of my gg-grandparents: John "Jack"
GARLOW, Jr. and Mary HOSTUTLER Garlow). If the sexton's or caretaker's
records still exist, I'd like to try and view them as well.
Thanks,
