I am in search of my great great grandfather. All I know is that his brother was James Jordan who settled near Winfield Kansas in the early 1900s. James' first wife died and then he married Montra Vaughn. I do not know my great grandfather's name (perhaps it was John?) but do know that he married Elizabeth (Lizzie/Liza) Hi

I went to school with 4 Cranston kids at Atlanta; there anscestors/family
lived in Sheridan Twp., Cowley Co., KS 1900-1930. They had come to Cowley
Co., KS from Ohio..
Checked around interenet for the Cranstons listed in your message and found
they came from Iowa to Landon Twp., Reno Co., KS in 1920; 1930 the liv.
Dudley Twp., Haskell Co., KS. Don't believe they are related to the Cowley
Co., KS Cranstons.

I have been contacted that a lady has possession of a family Bible with the CRANSTON family listed in it, she would like to find some of the family to get it to them. Some of the names listed are:

Hi, Shirley,
My great-great granduncle, Echelbary Cranston (1852 - 1908), was the progenitor of that family, moving there in the early 1880s from Lawrence County/Gallia County, Ohio.
Can you tell me the names of these children, and perhaps who the

If my memory serves me correctly, it was close to Silverdale southeast of
Arkansas City. I spent a week each summer in the 50's. I know it closed but I
can't remember when. When my parents took me there from Wichita, we always
stopped for lunch in Ark City at the park with a big locomotive. Campfire girls
are not listed in the Wichita phone book. I think they dispanded.
Sorry I can't give you any more information.
Nancy
We called the camp Camp Ko He Ma but I could be wrong...It was located east
of Ark City on 166...the ole Docking Mansion...it was back behind
there...seems they had a fire and it burnt the supplies and cabin tho there
is another camp further east towards Silverdale and then south aways. That
May be where they moved to. I do know they had a newer place with a mess
hall out south and then back east on the south side of the river...but I
believe that was later then the 70's.
