Is there someone on this list who can tell me about the cemetery in or near
Circleville, Jackson County? I've been told I have some kin buried there and
I'd like to be able to contact someone for any available death and burial
records for both my gg grandmother and ggg grandmother. Any other family
information would be greatly appreciated also.
My gg grandmother was Mary "Polly" Caroline (Campbell) Steele Thomas. Polly

I've had some people from the list contact me regarding my Circleville
Cemetery posting for information on my Mary "Polly" Caroline (Campbell)
Steele Thomas, and her mother Ruth Campbell. Those who contacted me were
also searching for information and one did give me a suggestion for my
search. So, I'm writing the list regarding what I have found thus far, and
the steps I'm taking. Maybe someone else can advise some further avenue of
search.

It lists cemeteries in Jackson county. I don't have the book, just
photocopies of names that I work with. I will transcribe the introduction

Circleville Cemetery is located in Jefferson Township, 1 mile west of the
east end of Circleville, then 1/2 miles south, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4, S28, T6S,
R14E. The Jackson County Numerical Index indicates this tract of land was
purchased by patent from the U.S. Government by N.C. Boydston. There is no
record of transfer of the land to the Circleville Cemetery Association. In

Hello List,
I have found the sexton of the Circleville Cemetery. Arlene, of Milwaukie,
gave us the sexton's name in the information she typed up for us about this
cemetery. Today, Monday, I called and talked to Mercer Funeral Home in
Holton. They gave me the name of the sexton as "Doris Rash", and her phone
number at work. She works at the Post Office in Circleville. She wasn't at
work today, as her husband has just undergone major heart surgery (5
bypasses and a valve repair), but I was able to contact her
