Robt. TWEEDY died after a long illness Friday evening at his home in this city. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon, after which the remains were taken to Denison, his former home, and services held there before they were interred in the Denison cemetery.

E.N. BALL died at his home midway between Netawaka and Whiting on the 7th, at the age of 76. He was a veteran, a good neighbor and a faithful Christian. He was laid to rest and to await his resurrection in the Netawaka cemetery. He leaves a widow and several grown up children who have our sympathy.

Mrs. S.H. ROSS died at her home three miles southeast of Holton, Thursday, of consumption at the age of twenty-five. She leaves two children and her husband to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at the house Saturday conducted by Rev. W.C. Miles.

D.M. THOMPSON died Saturday another old settler gone. Daniel Martin Thompson was born in Carrol county, Indiana, September 22, 1834, and died at his home in Soldier, Kan., March 24, 1906, age 71 years, 6 months and 2 days. He came to Kansas in the spring of 1858 and was married to Jane DOVE, December 31, 1861, and to this uniion were given 11 children, 4 sons, and 7 daughters, 3 of whom died in infancy. Lights Off at Ten-Thirty.
On account of the scarcity of caol, caused by the impending strike, the electric lights this week are turned off at 10:30 at night. This is done as a matter of necessity, and people should be thankful that we have lights at all. The railroads confiscate nearly all the coal and the Electric company simply can't get it. Manager GANT says the old schedule will be resumed as soon as the coal situation clears up.

Monaci NEEF was born July 5, 1832, in Maienfeld, Switzerland, and died Jan. 29, 1906, at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 24 days. Death of Mrs. Harry Bair.
Mrs. Harry BAIR died Sunday, March 18, of neuralgia of the heart. She was Exie ELLIOTT, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.N. Elliott, and was 23 years, 10 months and 25 days old at the time of her death. She was married to Harry Bair in December, 1903. Holton.--Ammi Newton CHANDLER, 89, Holton, died Sunday at his home following a short illness.

Denison.--Services willbe at 2 p.m. Friday at the Union Church here for H.C. (Tac) DAVIS, 80, Denison, who died of an apparent heart attack Monday at Anaheim, Calif., where he had been visiting relatives.
He was born August 29, 1884 at Birmingham in Jackson County. He lived in Topeka 28 years before moving to Denison 13 years ago. He was a member of the Christian church. He was a retired butcher.
