Mrs. Bessie McNERNEY, 83, died early Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grover BELL of 2510 Ohio.
She was born December 1871 in Illinois and lived in Perry before coming here seven years ago. She was a member of the Perry American League auxiliary chapter.
She leaves, besides Mrs. Bell, her husband, D.L. of the home; a son, Leo, of Hutchinson; two brothers, S.A. McKONE of Lawrence and Gene McKone of Tonganoxie; a sister, Mrs. Harry

Wilson Z. Orner.
Wilson Z. ORNER, 82, died Feb. 5 at the home of Felix McGinnis, near Grantville. He was born Feb. 14, 1862, at Biglerville, Pa., and moved to Galesburg, Ill., when a young man. He was a street car conductor and motorman for 45 years before moving to the Grantville community 15 years ago. He was a member of the Grantville Methodist Church.
Six neices and three nephew survive. Mr. Orner was an uncle to Mrs. Leona McNeiley, Topeka.

Roy HIGDON passed away at Yakima, Washington, Saturday night, March 12. Funeral services were held at Yakima Tuesday at 2 p.m. Mr. Higdon was an older brother of Dick Higdon of perry, and lived in this community in his earlier life. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Higdon visited in Washington last summer.

Four tramps took lodging in our school house last Saturday night and remained over night, but they were an honest set of fellows and took nothing. Their honesty was somewhat prompted probably by the presence of one of the school board, who was an early caller and saw them off.
