15. Loughead & Vance [0.988683]
Is there a marriage record in Labette Co., KS for Eliza J. Vance, b. Jun 1850 and John Loughead, b. May 1826? They were in the 1880 and 1900 Osage Twp, Labette Co. census and then I loose them. John was 74 in 1900 so perhaps he died and Eliza J., 49, remarried. Eliza was the daughter of James H. Vance, also of Osage Twp., KS. Thanks, Carole

17. Vance Cemetery & Ballou School [0.988683]
I just found mention, and even a picture, of the Vance Cemetery in Labette County, KS and I would like to find out just where it is and which Vances are buried there. I have also just learned about the historical Ballou School in Labette School. Does anyone know where the school was located and for whom it was named? Are there any pictures of it? We had relatives in Osage Twp, Labette Co. in the 1870s by the name of Baulos which was sometimes pronounced Ballou. Thanks, Carole

Thank you so much, Norman! It looks like Johnny-boy lied about his age early in the game. He was actually 46 years old...typical for May-December marriages. Thank you also for the correct spelling of the name. I have the same but opposite problem with the spelling of Eliza's cousin's married name, Baulos. It is often recorded as Banlos. They also were in Labette county for a few years. Carole ----- Original Message ----- From: > > John Longhead [note spelling] 35 years old, m

20. Froman and Beeman [0.988683]
Looking for help on a census entry from 1870 in Labette County (Richland Twp). My husband's g-g grandmother, Sarah Roland/Rollen/Rollan married John R. Froman in 1862, had son John W. in 1866. However, by 1870, Sarah was residing w/young John in Labette county, with the family of Nelson Beeman and John R. was still in Miami County w/his new wife Elizabeth and children. Cannot locate a divorce record for them (though I'm sure one must exist) but am also curious about Sarah. Cannot seem to locate a fami
