Still stumped on finding connection of my Walter Wilder, b. 1884, as being
son of a Mack Wilder and Jane Miracle. 'Walter' was b. 1884 in Pineville
and has connection to Miracle & Slusher families. My assumption is that
Mack, the father, was one of the Hiram's and that Jane may have been Jane
Lee (father John Miracle) but I can't find reference online where anyone has
listed a 'Walter' or 'William Walter' with a birthdate in 1884. Walter
married a Jennie Clark in 1914 in Arizona.

Hi,
I looked at the court house in Pineville, Bell County, Ky. for marriage
records when I was there recently, and I found this one for my mom's first
cousin, Virgil HOOKER to Pearl SMITH. They got married in Pineville on 3-17-1955,
by J. A. MCCORD. She was born in Dewitt, Knox County, Ky. and her parents were
Felix SMITH and Ludene HENSLEY. Does anyone know which Felix SMITH married
Ludene?
Thank you,
Charlotte Miller

RESPONSE:
Hello,
You would be wise to name some specific surnames you are researching in both
of these areas. Our records are not kept by the names of small communities.
They are kept by "county" names within a particular state . So, if you are
speaking of Bell Co. at Fonte, there would be literally hundreds of
researchers and they may or may not have any interest in your family surnames. As far
as Pruden, TN is, I haven't the slightest idea without looking it up to know
which county it is lo

RESPONSE:
Hi,
You have a very interesting family story. Glad to hear you have the
information you have obviously worked hard to obtain. So many times, people make
postings that are general in their nature and they really don't know a thing.
I mean zip. Sometimes, however, they do. Bottom line is that one doing
"look ups" has no idea where to even begin or how to begin.
Just from looking at the Knox Co. Fed. Census in 1850, it appears that your

Does anyone have any info on Newton Martin. He is listed in 1930 age 89
born in Virginia. He is widowed and living in the Bell County Poor Farm.
Anyone have an obit or a death for him. He couldn't have lived much past
1930.
In 1900 a Newton Martin age 56 is in Little Clear Creek with wife Hattie.
They have only been married for 2 years. Any info would be greatly
appreciated.

Hello,
First off I have done all my research as far as records (census, birth and
death, court and all the rest). There IS a William Martin listed in the
1850 Knox (later part of Bell) County Census. His wife is Catherine. Mary
D Martin is living in their household age 2. Mary Martin appears in each
consecutive census in the Little Clear Creek Area until her death. She
never married but had 3 children by "Big" Henry Cal Miracle. Mary Martin
has no stone at her grave. I know she is buried in
RESPONSE:
Hello,
You need to return to your query and re-write it adding in some dates. As it
is written, there is no way to establish any sort of a time line. When (even
if approx.) was this William MARTIN born and when and where did he die? Who
was Cathy?
Who did Mary MARTIN marry or did she remain a single woman until her death?
Need more specifics. There are literally hundreds of MARTINS in Bell Co. and
surrounding areas and no way to pin this family down. However, I don't see
a marriage
