Hello Lee,
You might want to check out the Magoffin Co. KY web page. There were lots of
Salyers there. In fact they were one of the founding families of the area. The
Magoffin genealogical society has lots of info on the Salyers.

YOUR ANCESTORS AND YOU
If you could have your ancestors, all in a row,
Would you be proud of them or don't you really know?
Some strange discoveries are made in climbing family trees,
and some of them you know, do not particularly please.
If you could see your ancestors all standing in a row,
There might be some of them you might not care to know.
But, there's another question which requires a different view,
If you could meet your ancestors, would th
Pat,
I now have three volunteers for the chat room. I will check it out to make
sure it is still functional and get back with you this weekend. The three
of you should meet and check it out before we go public with it. Thanks for
volunteering.

Hi, if you have Spencers, Watkins/Wadkins, Jetts, I'm interested in one of
your books. Thanks, Linda (Did you guess that your message would
bring a whirlwind of responses?)

Hello Cousins,
I am Leon Morris and I was born in 1941 on Morris Fork in Breathitt Co., KY.
When I started doing
family research in 1981, I soon found that I was related to every family on
Morris Fork by blood or
marriage. The more ancestors I found, I begin to think that I was related to
everyone in Eastern KY.
Today I realize that like many of you, I am only related to most of them.
I had so much data in a few years that I started writing people and telling
them I would have my
family book ready to shi
I am very happy that I have a copy of Leon Morris' book. It has
taken me back two generations of my Riley family that has been
so hard to research. There are a number of other families covered
in the book too.

Dear Leon,
I have read your book "Morris Fork". I enjoyed it, but found nothing re the
Johnson family of Jett's Creek. Are they included in any of your writings?
Thanks.
Dorothy

Darlene,
We have just started collecting old photographs of ancestors. We have
several collected, but most are the ancestors of a few folk here at the
library and several that Jackie T Burton submitted. We need to get a list
together for this before too long. We will accept any photos, but need
identification information for them. I would like to eventually put the
collection on CD for distribution, but as of right now, folks can have
re-prints made from anything in the collection for cost. We have be
Claude Smith and A Day's Work
Arch and Doshia Smith, raised a fine family and they did it under very
difficult conditions. Morris Fork has always had many exceptionally hard
working people and their son, Claude, has been one of them since he was a
boy. Grandma Betsy often said that Claude and his wife Gracie, were two of
the best workers on the creek. Hard work has paid off for them. They now own
the Richard Riley and the Betsy Smith farms.
When Claude and Gracie were first married, they started with litt

Good Morning and Happy New Year everyone!
I'm posting this for a friend. He desperately wants to find his Kentucky
