So What did this have to do with genealogy? My grandson was really involved
in this years election. He is age 8. He received a superior rating on his
"I am an American" Project. He helped our family put out election signs in
the yard, studied all the candidates, created a book on all the Presidential
candidates, wrote his own election jingles and even went with me to vote.
We created a large collage of pictures of his experiences. I am sure he will
get a kick out of this little song when he is older. I

Folks,
I made an error. I should know to not trust my memory. My reference to
CLAY CO., KY, in my original message, should have been to BROWN CO., KY.'
There is no BROWN CO., KY.
It was my great grandmother, wife of Clinton M. Allen, who was born in CLAY
CO. (INDIANA).
Thank you to all of you who sent me news of the existence of Clay Co., KY.

Jennifer and other Breathitt County Listers,
Thank you for your reply. Thank you to all of you who have checked your
records for me in search of my Clinton M. and John ALLEN. There are several
of you.
I have searched through Breathitt County census records and posted several
times. I have had several very kind replies with no connections to my Allen
line. I now conclude that my Allen's are not from Breathitt Co., KY.
My grandfather, Clinton M. Allen, is said by his son to have been born (ca.

To All my Cousins I have met ONLINE and My Friends on the Various List,
I would like to THANK Each and Everyone of YOU for making the PAST Year a Blessing. I thought my efforts where pretty much Solitary until I got this OLD 'Puter to play with. THAT MY MOTHER'S AUNT'S SAID THAT IT WAS CHANGED TO TOMLIN. I WOULD LIKE TO
FIND OUT WHY. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANYTHING YOU HAVE ON THAT NAME. THANKS
AGAIN, SHEILA
Dee,
Thank you for this message. I thought I had scoured the map of Kentucky and
searched the Kentucky GenWeb site for a Clay County and came up empty. I
made the Clay County statement in hopes that someone would tell me that it
once existed. You have done so. Thank you,
Steve Leeper

To All On THE LIST,
It WAS NOTMY INTENT TO OFFEND ANYONE. I WAS MERELY TRYING TO POINT OUT THAT PRESIDENT "DUBYA", AS WE REFER TO HIM HERE IN THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS, HAS BEEN IN OFFICE A LITTLE OVER TWO WEEKS AND THE BASHING HAS STARTED ALREADY. PERSONALLY, I AM AN INDEPENDENT; SO TO ALL OF YOU WHO THINK I AM A "CLINTON LOVING LIBERAL DEMOCRAT" ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. I USED TO THINK OF MYSELF AS A CONSERVATIVE SOUTHERN DEMOCRAT BUT THE PARTY GOT TOO WEIRD FOR ME. GRANTED, I CAN'T STAND "DUBYA" MYSELF BUT

I am glad that you love it , but I hate it. AND it has no place on this list.

Hello Everyone,
In the January 25th edition of the Jackson Times O.H. Napier has written
about his new book " The Bodies that Stain the Bloody Ground of Breathitt
County" according to the article the book contains all the murders that were
written about in the Jackson Times from 1925 to 1950.
Mr. Napier also still has books available called " Frozen Flood" and
"Hillbilly from Heaven".
The cost of each book is $20 plus $5 shipping . The address given in the
article is O.H. Napier Box 392 Jackson, Ky

Personally I thought it was kinda cute. Lighten up people you can't be
serious all your life. If you can't have a little humor once in a while, this
would be a really dull world
Do any of the Allen families under discussion have a daughter named
Polly (or maybe even Sarah Polly) that married Alexander Walker?
Polly was born in 1818 in KY and died after 1903 in Madison Co AR
She married Alexander Mar 27 1837 in Perry Co. KY.

I had no problem with the site. However instead of typing in the url
, I did the "Copy" and "Paste" thing where it will automatically type in the
"address'' for you . And went right to the site with no problem. Maybe you
could try that, and see if it works for you. :o)
