Anna Marie "Ree" Smith died in Springfield, Il Feb. 14, 2004, age 72. She
made her home in Petersburg, Menard, Il. She was born in 1931 in Axtel,
Breckinridge, Ky. She was the daughter of Raymond and Lilly Mae Critchalow
Rhodes. She married James C. Smith in 1957. Survived by three sons and
three daughters. Also has two children with last name of Yoakum. Four
brothers and four sisters. Burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery,
Springfield, IL.

Shortly after his arrival in Kentucky, John Hardin volunteered under General
George Rogers Clark for the campaign against the Wabash Indians and was
appointed quartermaster of the force. The Wabash campaign was not very
fruitful, many men deserting, supplies not sufficient, etc. There were other ex-
peditions against the Indians in which he took part. In 1789, he was named
County Lieutenant, with the rank of colonel, which placed him in command of
the militia of the county.

I would like to know if this information on the following is true:
I have a paper that states that MAHALA FRANK born about 1812 and died 1856
is the daughter of a JOHN FRANK and ELIZABETH OTTO. States that Mahala
married a JOSIAH SPENCER born june 14, 1898. His parents were SAMUEL
SPENCER and CATHERINE BRUNER. Mahala and Josiah Spencer lived in
Breckinridge co. Ky.
