Thanks again, Brenda. I didn't know that about Nehemia's death and will.
I am going to copy this and put it in his file.
Is it written where Nehemiah is buried?
Better researchers than I have tried and failed to find Jane's death record
and place of burial. It's consolation of sorts to know there are others who
should be there and cannot be found. I have heard the boundaries changed
many times, but have not been able to comprehend all I read. My people
lived in the Sample, Cloverport,
Jen,
Thank you so much for the offer. I am going to limit my research to the
Johnsons at this time.

Hi Debbie
I have five volumes of records regarding Breckinridge County, Kentucky
by Michael L. Cook and Bettie A. Cook
they are the early records of the county.
There does not appear to be a will
He was not shown in the guardian bond books either
One of the volumes covers deeds from 1810-1821 he was not shown at this
time
this volume also covers the time from of 1800 to 1816 Commissioners Deeds
he is not shown
I looked through them and found the records below
Mary Johnson to Isaac Whitworth July 26, 1849
I am looking for 2 Johnson girls who married between 1830 and 1840
possibility in Breckinridge County. Their father Hugh was in Hardin County
in 1830 and in Breckinridge for the 1840 census. I have access to the
Hardin County marriages, but could someone check Breckinridge for 1830 to
1840? Thank you in advance for the wonderful help.

Hi Brenda,
Can you find a burial for Jane "Jincey" Dowell? She was born in 1803 in
Bedford County, VA, died somewhere around 1848 in Breckinridge County. She was
the daughter of Elijah Dowell and Jemima Board, married her cousin Nehemiah
Dowell, was the mother of Benjamin Harrison, Eliza, Cynthia, Mary Ann,
Lucinda, Felix, Littleberry, Letitia, Francis and James Taylor Dowell. Many thanks
for your time. -- Alice

Brenda, do you have any cemetery record for Mary Ann Marilda Elizabeth (nee

I am trying to trace a Hugh Johnson on the 1850 census. Are there wills or
deeds available after 1850? I am trying to find out if he sold his
property, left it to someone in a will, did the estate go to probate or
could he have deeded it to someone in the family. I hope that I might find
out what happened to him. In addition, in the 1840 census, Hugh had a
daughter in his household, but she is not there on the 1850 census. Are
there marriage license between 1840 and 1850 that shows any female Johnson

Thanks, Brenda. That's a lot of information! But I gather there is no

Brenda, thank YOU for all the info you sent me on Nicholas RICE. The weird

from Betty Cook, which one did you mean had a lot of references to him?

Hi Jan
All five volumes have several entries for the surname Rice.
I typed out all the entries of Nicholas Rice for you
If you like any of these abbreviated entries you can write directly to the
archives at
Breckinridge and get the entire entry in the courthouse books
Volume V is the 1880 census. If you have other ways to
access the census then you may not need volume V.
These courthouse entries offer a bit of personalty to the
ancestors.
John thank you for Bettie's new address and I hope that she

Hi Debbie,
We are having a "genealogy" lady coming today, so will be on the computer,
but I will respond this morning to let you know I received your e-mail. That is
much better than going thru the Breckenridge Co. connection. First of all, I
think it would be easier, if I know more of what you know about this area.
When did your relatives go to Springfield, Mo.? Have you ever been to Hardin
County, Ky. I live in Elizabethtown, which is in Hardin Co...birth county of most
of my relatives. Breckenridg
I do not know if Bettie Cook is on this list or not, but she has moved from
the address listed. Her husband has passed away. There are five wonderful
volumes of the Breckinridge County Kentucky Records. She is a direct
descendant of Presley Cummins.

number and email address. Bettie is a Certified Genealogist, President of
the Tri-State Genealogical Society and a good friend. If you order or

Trying to find out the parents of Rhoda Johnson. She marries James Peters
in Hardin County June 19, 1841.
She is listed in Breckinridge County in the 1850 census with James Peters 29

She then marries Lewis Duvall in Hardin Co. on April 7, 1859.
Rhoda is listed in the 1860 Bullitt County, KY census - she is 48 yo, Lewis

I found a typed 1850 US census list of a county in Indiana that had a lot of
IA`s as birth place. But also saw a few IND`s. So if that is true then my
IA`s that I found in Ky for the same census year really mean that they were
born in Indiana?
I can not find a handwritten 1850 census to check.
Thank you so much for the info!!!!! I do feel that this Mary who married
Isaac Whitworth warrants investigation. I feel that the Mary Johnson in the
1860 census ties Mary Whitworth to Hugh Johnson in the 1850 census.
I traced Isaac and Mary Whitworth and they are still alive and living
together through the 1900 census. They are in their 70's in 1900, but I do
not see them in the 1910 census. Also, on the 1900 census, Mary states she
has never had children. Would it be possible to check the cemetery r
