Where was Planters Hall, Breckinridge, Kentucky in 1880?
Was it a town with census district called Planters Hall? If so was it
located between McQuady to Hardinsburg along 261 or from McQuady west or
McQuady towards Glen Dean Road? Or am I way off?
I am told that there is at least one McCamish Cemetery in Breckenridge County. One is supposed to be near Custer. Does anyone know exactly where it is? A newsletter from Hancock County told of a McCamish Cemetery in Breckenridge near Hancock. Does anyone know where that one is?
Thanks,
Doug McCammish

Those people (my father was one of them) were Government employes of the
Lock and Dam Branch of the US Army Corps of Engineers with Louisville as
their headquarters. Louisville is their headquarters still. There are retired
Ex employes in the area of all of the dams.
There is a large phone book entry for them the "employe locator is 502 582
5918 I am doubtful that this would include old employes but it might be a
place to start. departments not listed Like retirement records or personel
records is 5
Hi all,
Am hoping someone can help me out with a situation. I'm working on a
project, and can't find the information that I am searching for. In talking
with my cousin, he's mentioned in past, about various outbreaks of diseases
in Breck. Co. that may or may not have coincided with regional/national
outbreaks of disease (ie. Influenza, typhoid fever, TB). While I paid
attention, I should have had a paper and pen to write things down as my
memory isn't all that great in some cases.
I am wondering
My grandfather, James Pierce was employed at the
lock and dam on the river at Stephensport,
Kentucky in Breckenridge County, Kentucky and
then the lock and dam in Owensboro, Daviess
County, Kentucky. Can anyone tell me if there
would be any records I could request and if so
whom would I request them from. Would love to
have actual address before marriage and any other
information I might glean.
Thank you in Advance
All ideas are Welcome

Hi there list...
I am trying to track down a KNOTT family member that may have been in the
Poorhouse around the 1900's. I am wondering if anyone would happen to know
where the Poorhouse was located, or even what district/town it was in. I
have the 1900 census, so narrowing down the census listings will help if I
had approximately where it was. If someone by chance would have a listing of
the poorhouse individuals around 1900... that would be most helpful. I don't
know definitely that he was in it
If, you have not already heard the news, the Kentucky Historical Society is
again looking for a new director.
As a member of the historical society, and a patron who spends several hours
at the facility each week, I'm concerned with the direction the society
seems to be taking. A couple of years ago the historical society moved into
a new facility which ranks at the top or very near the top of the finest
research facilities in the country.
Unfortunately, since the move to the new building it appears as t

Through out the US and the world there have been periodic outbreaks most
notable in family history the 1917 Influenza which counts its victims in
the millions worldwide.
Typhoid is primarily a disease of poor sanitary measures affecting the
water supply. This usually exposed an entire local population using the
same tainted water supply before the symptoms erupt into a local epidemic.
Tuberculosis also know in family history as consumption has been in the
Americas since the time of Columbus.
