Hi all... Here are the updates and additions to the Breck. Co. GenWeb site for today. Many, MANY, thanks to Judy Ann for volunteering to help transcribe documents. At present she's helping to transcribe one of the two CD's of records for Big Spring Methodist Episcopal Church. If I can get things worked out, as well as a few more volunteers, I have the 1870, 1880, 1900, and 1910 census' for Breckinridge County that Judy Ann has also volunteered to help transcribe to get online. Still tryin

Dana, I was at the Custer Cemetery yesterday looking for the grave of Ida Conway Sosh. I could not locate it. Does she have a stone or is it an unmarked grave? Any assistance would be appreciated. Also, do you know if John, her husband, remarried after her death? Ida was a sister to my grandfather, Henry Conway. She was a 1/2 sister to Josephine Allen Minter that is also buried at Custer along with some of her children. Shereen Wethington shereen@starrstainless.com

Thank you to all who have responded concerning the 1890 census. I took the information I gleaned from your comments and tried them out. No one seems to have any information on my husband's great-greatgrandfather as he virtually appears in no census that we know of. After doing a google search for the 1890 census, I found that there was a territorial census conducted for Oklahoma. Voila! I think I may have found him yet. Thanks for all the help you provide to Breckinridge County AND BEYOND! Many

Hi Shereen... At this point, I don't know on a marker. I used part of a list I had been given by my cousin, and I put in the "updated" part which was the stones that I photographed. I'm due to go on vacation the second week in April and am planning on photographing the remaining rows of Custer while there in Breck. Co. So if she is listed on the actual Custer Cemetery list but there's no link to a transcription or picture, I would venture to say there is "something", I just haven't gotten t

Bad news, David. There is no 1890 Census. Hi all... The last of the Big Spring Methodist Church South records were added today, completing the posting of the images and transcriptions of both books. Many, many thanks to Jess Scott for graciously granting permission to use her copies to post on the site. The records provide a real insight to the times, the people, and the church it's self. On the census', Judy Hartsock and I are working on transcribing/keying in the 1870; Wilma Kaplan will be starting on the 1880 census. Once Jud
