Where would you look beyond that point?? Could someone please tell me what dates you would search for in these two names or am I totally off base?? What was the county before it became Hardin > Breckinridge??? I AM LOST. Please help Judith Pierce Arnold Pierce-Allen-Roberts-Johnson-Scheumaker

Judy, Here is what I think to be true; Hardin County was formed in 1793 from Nelson County. Nelson was formed in 1785 from Jefferson County, which was formed from Kentucky County, VA in 1780. Hardin County is the parent county for several counties, thus it gradually decreased in size over time. Therefore, if your ancestors were in Hardin early and suddenly disappear at or about the years listed you may want to check these counties too: 1799-Ohio, 1800-Breckinridge, 1810-Grayson, 1819-Hart, 1843-LaRue
