Did Logustin have two wives? Someone sent me this :Logustin Pettypool was
married to Letita Wilkerson, but the 1850 census for Breckinridge Co. Ky
lists Logustin b. NC and wife Catherine born Maryland. Also was he related
to the Pooles who rode with Quantrill

When you are in Louisville, if you can possibly do so, visit The Filson
Club, the genealogical treasure-house of Kentucky! It contains a vast
collection of genealogy information from every county in Kentucky, as well as
Virginia. The fee for a day of research there is $10.00 and worth every penny of it.
Plan to spend a whole day there if you can, and you may not even need to go
to Breckinridge or Hardin Counties if you can find what you are looking for at
the Club.

Hey Redbird,
The Logustine Pettypool (Poole, P'Pool) who was married to Letitia Wilkerson was married 3 times:Martha Satterwhite, Letitia, and Susannah Blanks. He was born c 1772.
Many in this family named there sons Logustine but the one I think you may be talking about was son of Robert and Nancy (Boyd) Pettypool. All I know about him is that he was sometimes listed as "Logsdon" and married a Catherine.
I will check later and let you know what I figure out (I am late for BB practice now!)

I am also still trying to find these people in Grayson Co. KY. Clorinda is
listed as wife but the children seem to belong to Buckner`s first wife,
Matilda Frank who is the daughter of John and Elizabeth Frank(s). Matilda is
listed on the 1850 Breckinridge Co. KY census as the wife of Buckner and one
child Martha.
Also this on Grayson Co Deaths by Frances Ingmire
Matilda Pool age 31 married died 9-11-1859 heart dropsy
dau of John and E Franks
The following is taken from the 1860 Grayson county Ky US census:

Where can I find more information about Quantrell?
One of my ancestors was caught in one of their raids
in Kansas, and wrote the story describing the event,
but I can't connect the names with Quantrell
because I don't know who all rode with him. -- Alice

You do know how to deliver! There are hundreds of them.
Thanks so much. -- Alice
This seems like the same familyas far as Buckner and the children. Was
Buckner married three times? Buckner was first married to Matilda Frank,
then Clorinda who was listed as 22 in 1860 census. So in 1870 a Barbary is
listed as as 55. So is that his 3nd marriage?

Dear Fellow Listers:
I can't find time to do the organizing and compiling I need to do on
several family lines, since I am receiving such a heavy volume of emails from the
various lists I am subscribed to. Therefore, I am temporarily unsubscribing
from this and several other lists to free up some of my time. Will be
re-subscribing once I get the material compiled which I have to date on this surname
list.
Anyone wishing to contact me can feel free to write to my email addy
above.
Thank y

Hi,
I am a new subscriber and am looking for cemetery info on:
George W. DOWELL [1788-1842] with his wife, Mary Ann [d. 1877]... Both
are supposedly buried in Breckinridge County.
My husband and I are also planning on visiting the area next June.
Would like info on campground or other lodging facilities.
Any help on library and courthouse info would also be helpful. We have
never been to the area before, so are inexperienced in researching in
the area.
Thanks for any help!

Hi Lanita...
You will have one BIG ball at the Breck. Co. Archives. Most everything is
right there within their department, but some things you might have to go
upstairs to the County Clerk's office... depends on what year you are looking at.
Mrs. Schafer and Mrs. Sanders are wonderful about not only showing you around
and acquianting you with the holdings, but also helping you get started in the
right direction. I was just down there last Thursday and saw what a wonderful
job they are doing regar
