Heard this story several times but never found anything in print or in court records till now. The Pooles [Pool/P'Pool] involved were sons of James M. P'Pool and Mary Masey. The Alexanders were children of Hardin Alexander and Amy P'Pool. They were all relatives.... in-laws and cousins....great story!!! John Poole is my great grandfather. This and others stories were indexed in 1982 in Green River Newspapers, Volume 2. Copies are avaialble at the Green River Library in Owensboro and may save you some additional time as you continue working this history.
