In going thru my mother's personal effects, I have found a Bible that was
given to William Cross STEINBECK, Carrollton KY, 1941. I couldn't find any
Steinbecks in a recent phone book for the area.
William was the son of Clarence Hubert Steinbeck (b 1902) and Loraine
Wright, from Bardwell KY.
I have no idea why my mother would have had this Bible and would like to
locate this family and return it to them if possible.

Hi,
I am looking for information a man named Dwight C. BAKES. I understand
he was Deputy Sheriff of Carroll County in the mid-1930s but have lost
track of him afterwards.
There is Dwight J. Bakes who died April 1, 1947, but I don't know if it
is the same one or not, but as it is an unusual name, I suspect it might
be. This is the information from the Kentucky Death Certificate Index:
name: DWIGHT J BAKES
date: 470401
age: 045
place: GLLTN
residence: CARROLL
volume: 017

William Lindsay, 1849 - 1903 was married to Louise TOMLINSON and was the son of William B. Lindsay and Margaretta SANDERS. The younger William was a lawyer, teacher, surveyor, and Police Judge in Owen County, Kentucky.
I have a tidbit of information about him. If interested please contact me.
