Hello all,
We don't have a copy of the book, "Casey County, Kentucky, 1806 - 1992, a Pictorial History" If someone in this group has a copy would they please check to see if there any ALLENs in the book?

Good evening.
Thank you to all those who responded to my query regarding the Richards
family. Let me start by saying I have never been to Kentucky. From looking
at a map it seems that Casey county is good sized. Where would the Richards
family have been in Casey county? I would be primarily interested into where
the two Leonard Richards were buried in 1838/9.
Thank you again for your time.

Can anyone give me the location of Turkey Creek in
Casey County. My ggggrandfather (Randolph Mayfield)
is listed as having a homestead on Turkey Creek of
South Branch of Green River.
Thanks

Hi,
You mentioned there were Taylors listed in the book. Who are they? I have
several Taylors I am related to in Casey. Please look if you have any
Cummins listed. Thanks for your help.
Paula

There are listings for all four of the names you seek.
Camden: Agnes, Cleon, Elva, Ova and Winnie;
Elliott: a bunch!!
Gaines: Bradley;
Patterson: another bunch!
Are there any names in particular you're looking for?

E-mail me after Labor Day Sunday. I need to dig a little. This Richards
may go back to Hannah Sharp who married a Richards. Hannah was a
daughter of Wm Sharp and Elizabeth James. He was a Rev Soldier from
Baltimore Co Md. who first settled around Danville, and later sold and
came to Casey Co a little before 1810. I may be wrong on the
connection. Hold tight till after the Labor Day reunions. Judy
Ruth,
There are two Frosts listed, but neither is Lewis Porter Frost:
George Frost is pictured; he was a Magistrate in the early 1920's; and
Ocie Cannon Frost is listed among the students in the senior class of Casey
County High School in the 1938-1939 school year. (There is a picture of the
class, but the students aren't indexed.)

Any chance there are any Earles in there? Most importantly Thomas Earles to
Polly around 1860 or Ben F. Earles to Amanda Stuart around 1890? Thanks

Pam,
The news is half-good!! There is a Leonard Toadvine listed in a photograph
of the Waltown School around 1912, and there's a Lydia Toadvine Malone in
the same picture. The bad news is that the names are listed in no
particular order, (they're not matched to positions in the photo).

You're all more than welcome.
I should be the one offering thanks to each of you - for affording me the
opportunity to stay out of trouble for a day!
Dennis
Jane,
There is only one WALLS listed: Henry. The picture may be later than you'd
like though since it was taken 1910 - 1912.

Nora,
It looks like I'm just full of bad news this morning: I didn't find and
BURDETTEs listed at all.
What's really frustrating, though, is that I can't find any of my ancestors
in there either - even though one of 'em was a deputy sheriff.

Since Libraries often have genealogy books, could you try Interlibrary
Loan?
If you live anywhere near a large library, you might call and ask if
they have it and go there and look at it. Just a suggestion.
I am sure the Casey County Library in Liberty KY has a copy as their
Bicentenial Committee that put the book out. Good luck, everybody. Judy

The Lucas information I have came to me from other Lucas researchers.
I can not verify it. There are a number of postings and queries on
the web. For instance, I posted a query on the GenForum and other
Lucas researcher answered and shared their information. Also received
information from "Casey County KY, Query Forum".
There appears to be a controversy as to the wife of John Lucas. Some

My marriage book ends about 1900. I don't know of a book of marriages
listed for more recent times. Since you know the date I don't see a
problem getting the mar. licence info.JF
I've been doing research on the Coleman of Casey Co., ky, mainly the
children and grand children of Daniel Coleman and Polly Durham If any
of you researchers have any information on these children and would be
willing to share it please contact me
at earlcoleman@earthlink.net
Thank you, Earl
I used to live close to Sherod Singleton in Kings Mountain, Lincoln Co. He
was the mail carrier for many years. Knew the family well, if anyone is
interested.

Hi, I have been following all the activity on this list for the past
few days, hoping to see some of my surnames there. I am looking for
Elijah Wilkerson/Wilkinson, wife Elizabeth, children: Anna,
Solona/Leona, Lutitia, Mattie, Jackson B, Margaret, James R. The
family was in Casey Co 1854 - 1869.
Also researching Charles Haley (lincoln Co) m Naoma Lucas (Casey Co),
her father was John Lucas, mother Sarah Jones. Looking for parents of
Charles Haley ( possibly Benjamin Haley and Nancy Sisk.
