1. Re: [KYCLAY-L] Bowlings from another list [1]
Hi Do you know if some of the Clay co KY BOLLINGS moved to Hardeman co TN in late 1820's or 30's. I have the marriage there in 1834 of Patsy BOLLING to William CORNELIUS. The CORNELIUSes were also in Clay co census of 1810. 7. [KYCLAY-L] Elizabeth Losson Rogers [1]
The post for Phillip Wilson jr and wife Christenor Rogers brings another question for me. The parents of Christenor are supposed to be George Rogers and Elizabeth Losson. Elizabeth Losson Rogers is reported to have lived in Clay Co until her death in 1841 at the age of 101-103. If anyone has information about the long lived Elizabeth, please post it. It should be just pretty interesting. Leo

Frank, I apologize fr taking so long to respond. Howard Redmon's entry appears in the entry for Henry Lucas - Manchester, Key., Dec. 22, 1898. Here is the section of the entry that concerns Howard Redmon. Howard Redmon, killed Dan Price, James Price's brother. It was he who went to the Virginia Caves and committed suicide to escape arrest. Sally Campbell: Rebecca Wilaon, d/o Philip Wilson, Jr. Married Daniel Strong. Daniel Strong was s/o John Strong and Susanna Davidson. Susanna was d/o Daniel Davidson, a Revolutionary War veteran. John Strong died in 1833. In due course, Susanna remarried to Robert Morris. Kevin, you may be a good fellow, but you should have sent me more information about what you know of the descendants of John Hawkins who lived, I think it was on Twin Branch in northern Estill county before 1850. He had two women, one had 22 children the other 17. They lived in seperate houses on the same farm and got along good with each other, real Christian like, except that son Edward got hanged. Willie was in charge of clearing the rights-of-way of the electric lines I restaked and a contractor was building. Willie had been through WW 2 and had seen the worst of it. Pat, What a great story... Of course, most of us are motivated in our search of the past and our struggle with the present by that very thing: Identity and purpose. Our search for identify and our inherent need to preserve it, makes us all historians. You can see it in the hieroglyphics found in the ancient caves, in the papyrus of Egypt, on the stone tablets of the Middle East, ..and in the work of genealogists. Stories like this and the ones that Jess shares makes KYCLAY-L dog-gone special. Perh
