Hi Joy,
George W. sure was a popular name! Bet the W. stood for Washington! I guess
that wasn't so bad, could have been Napoleon Bonaparte, like many of my
relatives!
Take care,
Bonnie
Greetings all,
The surnames I am concentrating on are Ashcraft, Bowman, Sipple and
Wharton. I have included a short ahnentafel for Lewis Harper Sipple to

Hi Pat,
I don't know if you have this or not so just in case you don't:
The 1900 census for Grant County lists the following:
The census looks like G. W. Baker but I am pretty sure it is J.W. Baker.
District #1, East Williamstown Prescient, Dwelling 260:
J. W. Baker born July 1850 in KY, he was a farmer, married 21 years, he was
unemployed 3 months, he could not read or write. He was renting a farm. Both
his parents were born in Kentucky. His wife was Margaret, born Dec. 1861,
she had 7 children al
somewhere down the line between Ireland and Amereica some of the dropped the

My sister told me one time that she studied stuff like that in school .

Hi Philip,
Do you have a record of an Anne Stewart who married Robert Nicholson April 26
1810 in the area that was then Pendleton County. I think Robert married two
other times. I am trying to discover who Anne's parents were. Consent was
given by Charles Stewart, James Stewart was the Bondsman.
Thanks,
Bonnie
Thanks for letting me know.It is helpful to know that one of the George's
had a middle initial of W.,kind of. I think every George I had born on the
1800"s miidle initial was W. and there were ALOT of George W. Jump's.

Greetings Cousins and others:
I sent for some of the back issues of Kentucky Explorer - was hoping to find
out something about what life was like in KY in the civil war. No luck on
the front...but I did find the following which I am going to quote with full
references because I don't know about copy write. OK. Kentucky Explorer,
Volume 14, Number 4 - September, 1999.Article on page 74 Historical Sketches
of Kentucky, taken I think from a history book by Richard Collins written in
1878.

Any families related to Grant Co in any way. Several of the families we have
listed may actually have been in Pendleton or Harrison but they were all so
closely related and boundaries had changed so that it would be impossible to
seperate them. So any families from that "area" would be very helpful to
Grant co researchers and that is the purpose of posting them. They often had
relatives in neighboring counties. Thank you for working on this

Bonnie and I have been working so hard transcribing records we have not
had time to tell you what we are doing.
We have added several deaths to our list which are now over 700. The
long awaited McClain Family has been added and we have added Confederate
Civil War Pensioners, Union Civil War Pensions at the History and roster
of CoD Union Cavalry. In the next few weeks we can look forward to
having John Conrad of the Grant Historical Society and noted military
historian posting to our military list. He als
I'am willing to do a look up for anyone. Here is what I have . This is on
a microfilm. Newport Ky Vital Record Index for the yrs 1884 - 1905
1906- 1916 and 1916-1928 . You can just reply to this letter. I will
only have this film untill 1 Dec 1999 since it has to be sent back.
Thank You.

Thanks Bonnie,
You are certainly up on your family relationships. Skeeter Davis is indeed
my relative. She is my Aunt, (my father's sister). My father is Harold
Penick. I would have replied sooner, but we were busy having our first
Grandchild. A boy, named Dylan Tyler Penick Hart. That's a lot of name, but
he is a big boy! Thanks for the welcome from everyone!
Sincerely,
Charles Penick

Hi Charles -

James Edward Penick who married Susanna Draper (born April, 1834 Grant Co)
on 24 May 1828 in Grant Co.
I have Draper back four generations if you want it.
