SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX UPDATED FOR AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER
1999. NOW INCLUDES 62,259,198 NAMES. RootsWeb's implementation
of the Social Security Death Index now includes full updates
for August and September 1999. As you may recall, the previous
August update included no entries (deaths), only corrected
entries. We received a corrected August 1999 update at the same
time that we received the regular September 1999 update. Both
are now included. Please

Hello everyone,
Could some kind soul check the 1910 Harlan Co census for the family of
Sam Jeffries, his wife was Nora B, some of the children were, Everett,
Deborah, Thelma, Harvey. I appreciate any help at all.
Hello,
I did some checking with Ancestry.com, although I had previously sent you
some Harlan Co. possibilities. Have you checked in Perry Co, KY.???
There are land holdings there for Davis FIELDS, James FIELDS and George
FIELDS in what appear to be very similiar areas.
The earliest one is for Davis in 1854 on Wolf Pen Fork . There is a
James in 1850's and into the 1860's with various land holdings. George is
later on with Perry land holdings in 1867 and 1868. George FIELDS also

My Dad grew up in Letcher County, and I had trouble finding people named
"Harm" in our family line, until I discovered they were actually named
"Hiram". The locals pronounced it "Harm". Just a
I don't know about Elizabeth as I don't have any parents listed for her;
however, I have David's father as Harrison rather than Harrington. Do you
know which is correct?
P. S. If anyone responds privately to your query with the information
about Elizabeth, would you mind forwarding it to me as well?
Thanks.

Carolyn, I'm very interested in your Bush posting. I believe he is related
in some way to my Owen(s) ancestor, Edward (Ned) Owen(s), who names
Washington Bush in his will in 1838 in Knox Co.
I'll post to the list what I find in my material in a day or so. Would
appreciate hearing from you if anyone contacts you directly.

Do you have any info on Elizabeth Fields d/o of Asa and Rachel? I have
been told she was my gg grandmother. If so, her son William would be my
g grandfather. In what information I have seen there is no father
listed for Elizabeth's children. She and her children were last listed
on the Breathitt Co. census 1870 then dissapeared. My g grandfather
William Fields lived in Leslie Co. - married Matilda Bowling or 'Bolin'
. Their fist child was born 1878. I would appreciated any confirmation

I am sorry if I offended anyone on this list when I posted. That was
not my intention. People have been good enough to help me and I wanted
everyone on the list to know that I am willing to share the information
that I have. It was my thought that someone other than Pam might
benefit, and if so, I am willing to share info. I apologize to the list

>Does anyone have any information regarding Elbert Fugate, m. Sarah Adams,
1854 in Letcher Co. His son, Alexander married Martha Ellen Noe, daughter
of Joseph Noe and Druscilla Jones. Alexander was supposedly killed in an

Hello,

I have two BUCKNER names in my file but from TN.
1. Pauline Elizabeth BUCKNER, wife of Travis Washington Lafayette GEORGE,
b. 1834. Travis's greatgrandfather, Travis GEORGE, was born in VA and
died in Paulette, TN.
2. Neil BUCKNER was one of three the husbands of Margaret Ann CARDEN, b.
24 Sep 1945. This CARDEN family lived in Coffee County, TN.
Don't know if these names mean anything to you, but I thought I'd send
them to you just in case.

Hi,
I descend from Asa's brother John, According to some early researchers
their parents were Hiram Fields and Fanny Mays. No proof has ever been
produced to date. A lady by the name of Sadie Stidham wrote an early
genealogy on this family and it was she who I believe started the Hiram and
Fanny story. If anyone ever finds proof I also would like to know. The
dates of birth for their children are so spread out that it would make
Fanny a candidate for the record book, I believe she would have been in

There are NO JEFFRIES families at all in the 1910. Sorry.
