Is Harrison Co. named for William Henry Harrison?
If someone has a writeup about the naming of the county I'd appreciate your
sending a paragraph or so to the list so I can forward it to a
non-subscriber.

.Hi everyone. This sure is a great list and I am enjoying
reading all the posts. I was wondering if anyone out there
would be willing to do a lookup for me at the Harrison Co.
Courthouse. I need a will probate. Or does anyone know if
the courthouse will do the search for you and send copies?
Thanks so much for the help!!!

there are tons of Renakers in Harrison county, and they seem to be fairly
well documented. Have you looked at the bio pages for Harrison County? Or
the alpha list?

all that I just posted the Rev. War Patriots and ancestors used by Grant

Fellow researchers,
The following biography is of great interest to me in that I am a direct
descendant of the Hinkson clan through COL John Hinkson (1729-1789).
John Hinkson was a fascinating character who was truly one of the more
colorful characters of those first generation pioneers who came to
Kentucky. John Hinkson traveled with 14 others in 1775 down the Ohio
and up the Licking river to establish a settlement (called Hinkson's
settlement--later Ruddle's fort). The biography recounts these events

I have a connection to this group on my county GenWeb pages. I try to make
things like this accessible to people who don't know what resources are
available for the local areas.

I'm pretty sure the authors/publishers are members of our mail list, and I
know they have been helpful to various ones of us in the past. To my
knowledge they've never exploited the group by advertising their wares to
the list. Anyone is welcome to use the list for giving information
The House That Henry Ewalt Built
by Josephine Hedges Ewalt, his great great granddaughter
In 1792 Henry Ewalt built the front six rooms of this house. He was
forty years old; and his first forty years had been fraught with almost
constant change--from his childhood" in Germany to his pioneering
