This is my first venture into Hickman County -- I hope it will be a fruitful
experience.
I'm looking for my grandmother, Mary (Molly) Lavina Carter. She was born
December 11, 1859. My records show she was born in Columbus, KY. She
married my grandfather, Robert Washington Simpson, in Iowa in 1875. I know
nothing of her ancestors at this time.
Is there a kind soul reading this who may be able to view the 1860 and 1870
censuses of Hickman County to see if she is included?

My friends -
Today, we are returning to our review of the Hickman County Vital
Statistics Birth Records for the period 1852-1860(and a few in 1861). In
prior segments, we have moved into the "G" surnames, and we will finish
those and get into the "H" surnames in this segment.
Subscribers to the JP and Hickman lists can request the full dataset for an

I had intended for us to return to McCracken County in this post, but I am,
instead, going to take us down to Hickman County, in order to finish up a
portion of the VS birth records there. We will get back to McCracken
tomorrow. In prior HIckman posts, we had advanced to the letter "F" for
surnames in these records, and we will finish those and get into some of
the "G" surnames in this segment.

I am not certain when this message will appear on any of the lists which I
host for the JP region, as RootsWeb is still upgrading and working on its
server systems. Some of the RootsWeb based lists are back in operation,
while other are not. I understand that all messages are being stored in a
queue, and that they will all appear as soon as the servers come back on-line.

continuing series on JP land grants ready for distribution. This file
contains more surnames which begin with the letter "M".
Specifically, this file contains the following surnames: Martin(many),
Mason(many), Mahan(many), and Marshall.
Subscribers to the lists which I host can request a copy of this file by
sending a message to me(not to the List, please) with that request. Please
ask for *File LG-845*. The file is a
Would anyone be able to check the Hickman County 1830 Census and let me know
the enumerations for the family of William Rice?
Would anyone have any information on this family per chance?
Thank you very much.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
