Our friend Barbara Denny George passed this little request along to me, and
I am sending it on to the lists. It is a little "outside our jurisdiction",
so to speak, but I am always sensitive to scholars who are working on these
sorts of projects, and I felt that there might be some possibility that
some of you might have material that would be of interest to this
gentleman. If you do, please convey it via private e-mail to the address
shown.

Any suggestions appreciated for the following dilema....I have grandma, Dora
JONES who died in Hickman County, we think in the 1960s. Until just last
night we thought it was city of Hickman over in Fulton, but the source we
talked to last night says, no they think it was Hickman County.
Now, I've checked the Kentucky vital stats index, and nothing matches up
with "My" Dora...was she simply overlooked? Is there a way f finding out
cemeteries with listings of interments for the county?

I am dropping by, pursuant to my pledge to keep you abreast of valuable new
web sites, to let everyone know(if you do not already)that the two huge
official records of the Ware Between the States have been placed on-line,
in their entirety, by Cornell University.
They can be found here: http://moa.cit.cornell.edu/MOA/MOA-JOURNALS2/WARO.html
The only drawback is that there is no index. However, most public libraries
have at least the Index part of these works and the volume and page numbers

It has been brought to my attention that there *is* an index to the War of
the Rebellion series that I mentioned in an earlier post today. I have
checked it, and the Index does appear in Series 4, at the bottom of the web
site page. That makes that publication much easier to work with.

Hello, I am a newbie, and I am researching the Buckner name and trying to find other descendants of my ggg grandfather Thomas Jefferson Buckner. I believe he was born in KY and his wife was either named Laura Williams or Lucinda Williamson, she was born in TN. I know they had at least two children, Jesse James Buckner (who was also known as J.J. Buckner and James J. Buckner) born January 24,1869 in Caldwell County KY. The other son was Albert Mitchell Buckner born January 18, 1873 also in Caldwell County. F
I realize there are some on this list who are also on the Jackson Purchase
list, and apologize for the duplication. Please just delete one if you got
two.
My grandfather Robert Luther RAY was born 12-12-1876, I don't know the
location but suspect it was Hickman County Ky. His brother, Columbus Worth
Ray was born there Aug. 2, 1880. Robert is shown in the 1910 Census in
Graves County Ky. with his wife Jennie Lou SUGGS and 3 children, Otis
Luther, John D., and Lottie and in the 1920 census in Calloway Coun
