I located a book called the Futrell Family of America, it contained information about a lineage I am researching. Upon contacting the author Roger Futrell, he explained that this book was full of errors and could not be counted on. However, so far the information seems thus far to be correct on the line I am working on. The information on this particular branch was submitted by a Mrs. Herbert J. Cox and a Margaret Fisher of Reidland Road, Paducah Ky. If anyone knows of these ladies, or is a relation,
This family information was shared with me, and there is no apparent connection to
the Hugh Orr family previously posted.

My friends -
Today, we are going to return to a series that has been dormant for almost
a year. We began, in 1999, to look at some late 19th century marriages in
Graves County, running from 1888 up to around 1900, but the series has not
been continued recently. We were still in the year 1888 when the last
posting was made, and we will continue with that year in this new segment.
Subscribers to the lists which I host can request the full dataset for a
marriage in the listing below(which usually includes th

James W. Orr (born 1836 to Griffin Orr and Nancy Ann

later moved to Calloway County, KY. It is said that he was
killed in the Battle of Atlanta in 1864. I am interested in
learning more about his service - was he in a TN or KY unit,
is it known where he was buried, etc.
Also and related, if this James Orr was killed in Atlanta,
can anyone give me more information on the James and Martha

I need to supply some more information on my previous request for identification of Cypress Creek in Kentucky.
A lease agreement recorded 28 May 1827 at the Calloway County Court House describes a tract of land being.......... 'situated near the (unable to make out word - could be north-) fork of Cypress Creek, then in the county of Livingston but now in the county of Calloway'.....
I regret that I do not know enough of Kentucky's history to be able to identify this area. This land is owned by GREEN (?)
Good evening folks-
Does anyone have access to the 1880 Fulton Co. census? I believe our
ggggrandmother Mattie Stubbs is listed there, and she's living with an older
family member. Who is she living with, and what are the ages? Thanks so
much.

Would the lady who made the Mathis Inquiry regarding the Lassiter's please

My friends -
This weekend has been taken up almost entirely with preparations for the
Jackson Purchase Homecoming 2000 event(which I will report on in more
detail in this message), so there was no time to prepare and distribute a
land grants or miscellaneous file.
I did want to stop by, however, and post the solution to the latest Skills

were right on the money with their thoughts about where they answer could
be found, and the other

This information just in from our JP Homecoming Registration Chair, Judy
Gordon - she had a computer "melt-down" early today, and is now, as I write
this, setting up a new computer system to replace the old one. As a result,
there will be a delay until tomorrow for those of you who may have e-mailed
her about the JP Homecoming T-Shirts which are being offered. She asks that
you bear with her - her e-mail is apparently intact, and she will be in
