Looking for information as to parents of Nancy Thornsberry, who married Leonard Gibson, Perry Co.., KY 1835. I do not think she is the daughter of John Thornsberry/Susannah Starnes--do you have any information as to who her parents are.

Can anyone tell me if the same applies to Sassafras? My dad was born and

Sassafras is a populated place in present day Knott County, Here is a good
site for locating towns, streams, mountains, cemeteries, etc.

Loren:
My husband has been there since I have. He said it was under construction
two years ago and opened about six months ago. Said it is across the street
from the old courthouse and closer to the bridge from when you come into
town.
Are there two courthouses. Maybe one is the district court and the other is
the circuit??? I kind of doubt there would be two.

Loren,
Thank you so much for her parents. I think she was born 1893 and she
probably lied about her age when she married. Birth certificates were rare back in
1890's. Take a look at these census records I found since you gave me her
parents names.

This is a new family on me. Does anyone claim them?

I have that he died in 1884; don't have where he was buried.
I have date of marriage as 1/14/1855.
These are the children I have from the census records of Rebecca

Hi All.
If you turn in the little town of sassafras you go up yellow creek
where the yellow creek school is. My wife and I both went there.
Sassafras Hollow is at the Carrs Fork Lake Dam. Beside the
Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church. I have picture's of all of
it if any would like to have them.
Donald Givens.
When looking at various marriage indices I see two 1833 marriages for John
Walker, Jr.; one to Polly Combs and one to Jane Short. Does anyone have any
information on the latter?

Hi Gloria.
If you take 160 out of Hindman like going to Brinkley if you
turn on 899 toward where the old drive-in was you will come to
Browns Creek. And on 1393 off 899 you will find Branhams
Branch. The one you are looking for could be one of these.
