1. [KYKNOX] Resources [1]
I don't have a copy of Marriage Book A, but I have a copy of early Knox Co. marriages (index) taken from a variety of sources. What I'd really like is a resource for land records. I've been trying to find a record for Hugh Sturgeon buying property in Knox. I think Hugh Sturgeon/Sturgill grew up Letcher Co. (probably born in Wise Co., VA). I believe Hugh married Sallie Mullins about 1847, but I can't find that marriage record. Sallie was a daughter of Rev. War Vet Joshua Mullins and Anna Robinson. Any

3. [KYKNOX] RE: CA Earthquake [1]
Hello, Everyone, All is well here in CA with the exception of loosing about 1-1/2 hours of sleep when the quake of 7.0 hit at just before 3:00 a.m. My judge of an earthquake's strength is the wave action in our swimming pool. Did we ever have some wave action last night! Probably lost 9 inches of water out of the pool, around the backyard and out into the front street. I am not yet anyone's deceased relative! And, the search continues for those often -elusive and most fascinating ancestors of o
4. [KYKNOX] Wilson-Mullins [1]
Hello, I don't see either of those names in this book. However, more volumes are expected to be readied and sold. If I were going to look for the MULLINS surname, I would be looking in Wise Co. , VA. That county was absolutely FULL of MULLINS. I just went through and looked at all the families that are listed and there are lots. There was one name that struck me as a possible Della Arizona MULLINS, b. 1879. This is the listing: 1880 Wise Co., VA Dwelling #270, Familiy #2, (in the same family

16. [KYKNOX] Re: LEWIS - NUNN MARRIAGE [1]
Barbara, in my informtion on my Lewis family I show that Jesse A. Lewis married Martha Nunn on September 15, 1868, in Laurel County. This is recorded in Book BB, page 131. Jesse was born about 1847 and was a son of Robert H. Lewis and Elizabeth Logan and was on the 1850 census of Laurel County with them. He was a brother of my great-grandmother, Nancy Jane Lewis, who married William B. Owen in Laurel County in 1843. I'm afraid the above is all that I have on Jesse and Martha; I would be very interested

22. Re: [KYKNOX] Stoney Fork Cemetery [1]
Jeanette: If you don't get any answers -- try going to www.daddezio.com, then the link to Cemetery Junction. Choose US, then Ky -- see if you can find any info on your cemetery. As all this info in Cem Junction is voluntarily donated, it's hit or miss. I know that Bell Co has LOTS of coverage -- with over 300 cemeteries listed. With many of the Bell Co cemeteries, when you open the file, directions are at the top -- they appear to be very explicit (for Bell Co anyway). Good luck! Becky --- Jeanette
