I am afraid I too will have to unsub from the list, at least temporarily.
I DO appreciate everything you do for this list and web pages! However, I am on a trip and the volume of mail at this time is just too heavy for me to handle. I probably should have unsubbed before I left home, but thought I could just take a peek each day at the email. My mailbox would be blocked by now with the amount of email generated these last couple days.
So, until I get home, please unsub me.

Hello!
I have seen before that someone on this list has a copy or access to
a copy of the Daws File. I have a couple of questions. Is there a
listing for each state or are they all together? How to you get a copy
of this file? If they are all together could you check a person for me.
My gr gr grandmother is suppose to be on it. Her name is Ella (Ellen)
Bradshaw CoGeon (CoGean or CoJean). Also how much indian blood did you
have to have to be required to list.
Thank You for any help!
The following newspaper clipping may be interesting to fellow listmembers. It is taken from the Knott County Historical Society's Electronic Chronological History of Eastern Kentucky 1673-2000 A.D. If you can elaborate upon this history, please share it with us.

I agree, thank God for people as kind and sharing as Jess Wilson. We must realize that our histories all lie in our older family members and you must tap into that history before it is too late. I have always, always enjoyed the family stories passed on by my grandmother and my husband's grandfather. Take time to record these stories that they tell, you never know what someone else may find years later...God Bless Jess and Possom Trot!
Rita,
No apology was necessary. I did not mind at all, and in fact, it reminded
me to check out the other boards. I hadn't in awhile, and I found material
on some of my lines. Thank you!

I recently was visiting the United Kingdom on business, and I can say that
most of the English were very nice and friendly. But one night I got a
cabdriver who asked where I was from in the U.S. When I told him Kentucky, he
asked if we all carry guns, and why do we let crazy people buy them? He then
proceded to say that I talked just like John Wayne. By the end of the cab
ride I asked Him if he was ready to step outside? "Pilgrim" He declined. Ken

On Wednesday about 10 a.m. the alarm of fire was given over town and it was
soon found to be the residence of Mr. E. Hauser, our clever shoe maker.
His home was situated on a hill several hundred yards from the Rockcastle
Springs road, to the right and about one mile from the Court House. All were
away at the time except Mrs. Hauser, and as the house was so far away from
