I sent a message earlier about possible locations of children who were taken from McCreary Co. and placed for adoption. The two which appear in the records of the McCreary Court prior to 1925 are the Kentucky Children's Society Home in Louisville and the Apostalic Faith Home in Nashville. Today I ran across a third. I wanted to share some information which I found which might help someone trying to trace family members who were born in SE Kentucky and who seem to have disappeared or who were adopted. In researching the McCreary Court Order Book 1, which is posted on Margy Miles's McCreary Co. Page, children who were orphans or whose parents could not afford to support them for various reasons were sent to a home in Louisville to be placed for adoption. No further information. Hope this helps someone.
