Hi Carol from Tucson, this is Jeannie the list mom from Benson :) Did any one in Montgomery Co do a history of that county.. like Beers etc... perhaps they would have something there that would help both of you Wools researchers.... Steve, I have reason to think that my ancestor Sarah, wife of Joseph Turner and later wife of William Smith, was a Young. She was born c1754 in Bedford Co., Va and came to Fayette Co., Ky and later to Montgomery and Bath Counties. This is about all I know about Sarah.. In your research, have you run into this family? Charlotte Holleran I live now in Flint, MI I am researching Clancy, Holleran, O'Laughlin in Montgomery County. All of whom lived in Montgomery County. The Clancy's starting from the mid 1850s, Mary Clancy later married to Patrick O'Laughlin by 1860 after our John Clancy died. They show as married and the Clancy children in the household in 1860 by census. Researching: Wool, Woolls, Woolles, Wooles, Catanach, Cattanach, Cattnach We know that we had Wools in Kentucky by the late 1700's and that whilst a few stayed, many left to settle in Missouri, Ohio, Illinois, etc; Ditto with Cattanach's Catanach's. In Montgomery Co., I'm hunting for the following folks. They are accounted for 1810 & before, & after 1810. Found a, 1808 deed in Madison Co., KY saying Jacob & Priscilla were residents of Montgomery Co. Haven't found them in a Census index for 1810 & what records I have looked at for Montgomery Co. have been no help. At most, they may have been there about 5 years. You click which state and then county or jus add the name in the slot and see what happens... there are only about 5 or 6 states so far..... MO KY NC SC TN for those on the Cameron list there is a Hugh Cammeron court record for 1785 I think it said available for a min. sum of 2.50 I think is what they charge I have not used this service before but I do go there and look, so far what they have on my names I already have the documents.
