Barb,
1. Catherine McGibney married Fielding Cobb 16 Jan 1845 by Asa Cobb.
2. Anna McGibney married Francis Apperson (prob Epperson) 17 Apr 1845
by Corneliul Duvall.
Fielding and Catherine are the grandparents of Edgar Morgan who wrote
"The Cobb Book". John and Drucilla were married by Benjamin Lambert. All
these marriages were perormed in Owen Co.
The Cobb book states that Fielding was married 30 Jan, but the clerks
copy I have says 16 Jan. Need to see actual records for certai
I was in the Lexington/Frankfort area this week for 1 1/2 days. The big,
new, beautiful library at the University of Kentucky is the W.T. Young
Library. The genealogical material is still kept in the Margaret I. King
Library. There are two buildings - North and South. Genealogical material
has been kept at North - until today, August 28. The North wing closes
today. The collection is all being transferred to South. The reopening is
scheduled for Sept. 20, 1999. But call first
Perhaps Benjamin G. stands for Benjamin Garvey, a prominent person in
early Owen County, and there was a George Perry who married a Fanny Garvey
in Gallatin County Mar 18 1818, so there may be a connection there.
You find the Garvey in the New Liberty area, which was in Gallatin until Owen was created.
The 1800 Kentucky tax lists show two Benjamin Perrys in Gallatin County and two in Henry County, so you may need to also be looking in Henry County.

Osborne researchers,
Sally Jenkins has recently found additional records on her Loyalist
ancestor James Ozburn definitely connecting him to the Osbornes in
Harford Co., MD that moved down into NC, then Abbeville Co., SC, and
finally into Scott Co., KY and beyond.
I hope there will be some additional discussion on these Osbornes.
Rather than having all of this happen on the OSBORNE-L mail list, I
would like this discussion to occur on the Osborne_MDHarford@listbot.com
mail list so Osbornes that aren't rel
Hi!
I am having a terrible time with the family PERRY.
Benjamin G. Perry
B. 1853
M. 1-20 (24)-1877 Agnes Long
(I know Agnes was buried out of Redding and Bradley Funeral Home and
interred at IOOF Cemetery. Benjamin is not with her. Her parents were
William Long and Margaret Marker)
The date of their marriage and the birth of their son make no sense. Number
of things could have happened, mis-read, mis-heard, or he was married before
Agnes. But everything points to Agnes as the mother.
I just received the following from a new Clifton cousin she has some question
on Osborne and Wainscott wanted to pass along to you and see what you all
think. She is not a member of this list and I just wrote her back giving her
my web page and Clifton information. I would be interested in the Cherokee
information if anyone knows any connections. Thanks keep cool it's HOT here
104 today Barbara

Owen Co page but everything has been place on hold for a month or so.
Started a new job and it is taking a lot of my FREE time and now I do not get
home until after 7. I have so many projects to do and no time the story of
my life :}
Looks like the summer has everyone tied up now that school has started I hope
everyone will start doing research again. Stay cool and wanted to pass this
along my mom sent it to me.

Barb,
Found other McGibney marriages, but much later.
1. A. M. Myers (male) to M.J. McGibney 26 Apr 1855 by G. B. Armstrong
Myers is German, as I am looking in that name on my husband's side (who are
all German).
2. Robert A. Stewart to Susan McGibney 6 Nov 1862
3. James Pierce to M.J. McGibney 14 Nov 1863
So I continued to look and found Anna Epperson married to W. H. Clifton
14 Nov 1855.
4. William N. McGibney to Lydia Sebree 30 Dec 1856 by J. L. Ballard
5. John T. McGibney to Mary Smith
Bradley,
I, too, am researching the PERRYS of Owen Co. I have
a BENJAMIN S. PERRY, b. 1858, Owen. At first, I
thought that BENJAMIN G. and BENJAMIN S. were the same
person, but I have changed my mind. I now believe
that there were several PERRY families in Owen in the
early days and that they all favored the same names
for their sons and daughters.
I did locate some information on your Benjamin in the
Perry file at the Owen County Library. I will pass it
along to you. Maybe it will help.

HI again...
Are you aware that the Charles Henry Wainscott dates which you have for his
birth and death dates do NOT agree with his headstone. I have slightly
different dates...??

John McGibney (4 Sep 1792-2 Jan 1877) married Drusilla Wainscott . They had
"Jodie" (Joseph) , James & twins Anna (1824-1900) & Catharine "Kitty"
(1824-1921). Catharine and Jodie were apparently named for Drusilla's
parents-Joseph & Catherine Wainscott. Drusilla died in March 1826 after being
hooked by a cow and John then married Mary Roland (2 Jan 1800- 23 Jan 1898).

The birth year that you have for Davis A. Wainscott is 1864. I have 1874,
from B. H. Wainscott's research files... Do you have documentation of
this birth date??
