Dear Listers and Jo:
The James Drake will you show, dated 1808, seems to be my James Francis
Drake. His first wife was probably Anne Bruce and they had Thomas and
Betsy, but she died 1775 and he remarried to a Winney___. JFD and
Winney had Polly, who married Isaac Foster. Thomas married in Orange
Co., VA, Racheal Peak.
Thomas died in 1818, and also left a will.
I do not have much of JFD's will in 1818, only a fragment, which names a
wife and children (Betsy, by then, was named Vallandingham). Thomas

I think that William Campbell of Scott Co., KY is probably the same Wm.
Campbell who was in Stafford Co., VA in the 1780s. "Stafford County,

volumes published 1990) lists Peck, Burgess, Campbell and Mulberry - all
who appear on each others' documents, intermarried and lived in the north

Dear Scott Listers,
Sometime around 1796, James Francis Drake moved to Scott Co., near
Georgetown. His second wife was Winney____, by whom he had a daugher,
Mary (Polly) Drake, who married Isaac Foster.
James had a previous wife, named, I believe, Anne Nancy Bruce, whom
he married about 1767 in Culpeper Co., VA. She died after delivering
two children: Thomas Drake and Betsy Bruce Drake. Thomas stayed in
Scott, while Betsy Bruce married Lewis Vallandingham, and about 1829,
moved to Owen Co.

Does this Drake belong to the same family that married into the Peak
family?
My abstracted will book shows James Drake's will of 4 Oct. 1808 lists a son
Thomas Drake and daughters Polly Foster and Eliz. Valandingham.
One Thomas Drake married Margaret Price 11 June 1839
and John Peak's will shows a daughter named Rachel Drake, who I thought had
married an earlier Thomas Drake. Maybe Rachel's husband was the one whose
estate is listed in Will Book B, 262 and 265. (prob. about 1815)
Rachel's sister, Molly

My husband is a double WOLFE. His mother was born Kathryn "Marie" WOLFE on
the Harrison-Pendleton line and his father was Virgil Lee WOLF in Pendleton
Co. She informed him that he didn't know how to spell his name so they used
the "E". Both lines concentrated in the same few counties, repeatedly used
the same given names (George, Lewis, John, Thomas, and famous people, i.e.
George Washington WOLF(E), Benjamin Franklin WOLF(E) etc.), and many were
blacksmiths. Everyone assumed that there had to be
