Dear Mr. Jacobsen, That is so generous of you to offer to help. I am searching for my great-grandfather Lehmann (don't know his first name) but was told by an aunt that he was an artist by trade. My grandfather Hermann Edward Lehmann was born in 1806 in Berlin, Prussia and was a musician and composer found in New Orleans, Louisiana as early as 1840. I am wondering if he was home schooled or self-taught. He played the violin and piano. I don't know if he came directly to New Orleans, or maybe into Ba
