Hi James, In most parishes it would be the Clerk of Court (for the parish). In the larger cities that encompass an entire parish, the records may be kept by another office, but for the more rural parishes, the Clerk of Court is the record keeper for the parish records. The coroner's records for Terrebonne parish have been ectracted through 1917, but Lafourche Parish has only been extracted through 1903. I have exausted my feeble brain in searching "Louisiana", "Parish", "Coroner", "Police Jury" and any other I can think of and cannot locate the name of the office that would have these record. Our next "Mini Used Book Sale" will be held Saturday, June 9th, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Louisiana State Archives on Essen Lane in Baton Rouge. This sale will feature genealogy books by the late Father Donald Hebert, Civil War, military, and travel books.
