hi: I have not worked at shriners nor was a Patient But my Grandma worked there as a Nurse or Nurses Aide. Her name is : Ruby V. Killough Friddle at that time her name was: Ruby Killough she worked there about 7 years and helped the cripple children - I believe I have a pic of her in her Nurses uniform she might have worked there: from 1953-60

Hi Tracie, By following Census and diary information on my family, they arrived in Nac. Par, which produced Caddo Par. Rush Island was a Census division as well as an area of land defined (Caddo Indian History doc) when the Caddo Indians sold their lands to the US gov and a dispute arose. It was settled as early as 1820s. The area that my ancestors were in became part of Red River Par when it formed after 1860. I have a copy of the 1895 Red River Par e-map that I can outline the area on, but, I would

Looking for information on my grandfather. The Carter family lived in Shreveport, LA from about 1920-1924/5. My grandfather was born Mordecai but left home at an early age and went by Clarence M. Thanks for your response. No, I've haven't found any yet that have moved out that way. I'm just starting the research on HOOKS. My g,g,g,grandmother(Massey Henderson) maiden name was HOOKS and all I know at this point is that she had a sister named Barbara HOOKS who married (in Shreveport) a G. D. MOORE Dec 16, 1872. Hopefully, I'll find more info that could possibly link me to the Hooks you mentioned. Sincerely,

I am looking for descendants and ancestors of Jacob Swoop Wise (b. abt 1820 in VA, possibly Augusta Co. VA) and Louise (b. abt 1824 said to be in Mississippi). I am in contact with some of the desc. of their daughter Louise Stewart Wise who married Camp Flournoy. I am desc. from Mary Francis Wise who m. Edward Beverly Herndon, her brother William H. Wise's law partner, and the Mayor of Shreveport in 1891. Where did Jacob and Louise come from and who were their families?

Your speaking in reference to the Pines Sanitoriam. Not Pineville. Pineville is a physcology (sp) hospital in Pineville next to Alexandria in Rapides Parish. I called the only Pines Treatment center on Greenwood road and they are not the ones. So I would suggest writing to the Shreve Memorial Libaray and asking them. Please list the response on this list.
